I think he really didn't trust his instincts in this situation because he had such strong feelings for Georgia and felt she could have been faking just to get close to him. This was the first time he felt this way about someone.
I understood him completely. He’s not a man who’s ever fooled as well as Georgia did with him. Bautista is careful and methodical, not used to anyone getting anything over on him. It made him question everything about her because he couldn’t trust his instincts anymore. Was his judgment clouded because of his feelings? He needed to answer that question.
They were both lying to each other about who they really were, Georgia know about Miguel, but he was clueless until she showed up during the gunfight. I don't blame his for having doubts. He needed to know what was real.
