Challenges: Year Long Main 2021
>
Cherie's Trivial Choices in 2020

Thanks for the catch, Esther!

I hope you can find the missing one. I wish the challenge results would show as a list rather than covers. I think it would be easier to review them as a list.

Yes, I would not mind a list for the challenge results either, but some would be soooo long. I really had not been paying attention to the reading challenge list all that much. I said I would read 160 books this year, but I am only a few books away from that. All of the audiobooks available from my library have really added up. Good for killing off series too.
There was an apple update to GoodReads a couple of weeks ago, and I have noticed a funny lag when I update a book on my iPod app when I am finished. It does not always bring up the book right away so that I can enter a review. I have to go find it in the challenge list and edit it then. It seems to be affecting the reading date for some of the books. The three that I found first were missing the dates read and the last one I forgot to add Storm Front to my "yearly-challenge" shelf. I kept overlooking it for the others that were missing yesterday. I am all good now and I can go start reading Sold on a Monday. I bought it at Costco a few years ago and it has been patiently waiting to be read.

Another YA series killed. The author could have left this series as a trilogy and it would have been fine, but I guess she was not ready to leave her characters and her world of the future. I really should have given this three stars, but the narration was very good with the dual narrators.

The movie was different than the book, but the John Wayne character was the same. I am glad I finally got a chance to read the book. The book was less visceral than the movie.

PS those high winds must really be vicious.

PS those high winds must really be vicious."
We had a power outage for several hours Monday evening. The fir tree on the south side of my house dropped fir cones on my roof all evening. I don't think many are left now though. I think the library pick up is closed because their set up is outside the entrance - right in the path of the wind. I can understand why they are closed. My neighbors across the street had to rescue their trash cans last night. My neighbor's blue spruce dropped a few small branches in my back yard, but that is all. The weather station is reporting winds ENE 24mph and it is 80 degrees F (27C). It is an odd weather pattern that we do not get very often.

This story was not as suspenseful as some of the previous books in the series, but still, it was shocking at times. I really like the character of Kurt Wallander and the narration by Dick Hill. My library does not have #7 in either audiobook nor ebook format, so I recommended them. Hopefully, they will choose to purchase them both. Funny, they have #8 though, but I do not want to skip. The stories do build on the previous ones.

It was an amazing story. Thank you, Janice for another opportunity to read another one that I had put off for too long.

Hmm... I have 70 books listed under badge 3. I'll have to do a comparison.

Seems like it, huh? Unfortunately, they are all over the place.
I have 9 cards that still require two books and 8 cards that require three books to be finished. That is 21 books to finish 10 cards.. I already own some of them, but not all, so it means tracking the rest of them down and hoping my library has them. If it happens - it happens. My original goal was to get Badge 3 - and I am very happy!

I'm in the same boat, but I am trying to get badge 4 knocked out by mid November. I like having November and December freed up with less challenges.

Another book I have wanted to read is off of my list. I really enjoyed the audiobook and the narrator, Karen White. As a story of its time and setting, it brought back some uncomfortable memories a couple of times.

I liked the story. I had never heard of the two main characters, but they were real. The story was mostly fiction. I really liked the way the author put the story together. I will probably read more of his work. Kate Reading was the narrator of the audio book. She really brought the characters to life.

The story is the first book in the Order of Darkness series. It was a good story, well written. I think the target audience is more YA. The story was more fiction than historical. The author said she enjoyed writing it as a change from her more historical fiction work. I do not know if I will read any more of the series, but I could if I stumbled across any more books.

7. State how the book fits the criteria: The story in this book takes place at the battle in Chancellorsville, Virginia. It was one of the bloodiest battles of the war.

I thought I had read this book, a long, long time ago, and maybe I did. Parts, where the "young soldier", his name was Henry, was wandering around after running away from the first battle that his regiment, the 304th had fought in, were slightly familiar. I really thought it was dry, but not as gruesome as I thought it would be. I am glad I am done with my two Civil War tasks now.

Food was a theme, but Chick Lit/Romance was the genre. It hit the spot and I admit, I cried, twice.
