Suggested break down of reading so that you can check in and let us know how you're going. The following breakdown is purely a suggestion and is therefore not set in stone.

Rather than putting dates for each section I've done it so that it takes into account that not everybody will necessarily have the book at the same time.

Wk 1: Chapters 1-3
Wk 2: Chapters 4-6
Wk 3: Chapters 7-9

Would it be possible to join this group? I literally just picked up The Great Gatsby today. I read it a couple of years ago but after seeing the latest film adaptation I have been dying to read it again!

I have actually read it to the end of third chapter,for the ones that have watched the movie,the first three chapters haven't got anything new,but for the ones that haven't watched the movie,it may come as a mystery,such as who is Gatsby?what is his interest in Nick about?

I have already read the book and I won't read it again because (view spoiler)[it was uber depressing! (hide spoiler)] but I would love to join the discussions and see what you all think about it! :)

I finished the book and since I've watched the movie first,nothing came as a surprise!
(view spoiler)[ the complaint I have about the book and also the movie,is how the narrator does absolutely nothing!If he was more active and not only a passive storyteller,none of the harsh incidents may have happened!He shouldn't have let Tom get away with the affair and also shouldn't have let everybody think that the affair and the accident is Gatsby's fault!
Overall I enjoyed reading the book and the ending made me sooo sad!Gatsby was sure a great man and the "The Great Gatsby" is totally appropriate. (hide spoiler)]
I can't wait to see how you guys think of the book!

I just picked up my book from the library, I'm going to start tomorrow. I didn't see the movie or read the book before, so I'll read the spoilers later on ;-) Looking forward to reading it!
