Wow, that does sound good, Debbie.

Talia (kneyda) | 243 comments I finished The Return: A Pride and Prejudice Story this morning and barely got through it. I enjoyed Darcy's thoughts about Elizabeth at the beginning but eventually the book became a real snooze fest to me. I also really disliked the ending. I gave it three stars but maybe I should change it to two. I am sure lots of people here may have loved this book so I apologize in advance.

Nicole Barton Sasser (bartonsasser) | 4 comments I am currently reading #51!

I started late in the year and was worrying. I want to read the Outlander series, but would not start until this goal was reached :)

Hey Debbie!
I got it on the sale Ceri mentioned. It was serendipity. I no sooner read how much you liked it and wham, it was on sale. Perfect!

@Talia- oh man, bummer that The Return ended up being a disappointment for you.

@Nicole- woohoo!!!! Way to go getting to the end of the challenge and still having some time for your Outlander book loving. :)

message 758: by Sheila (new)

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 138 comments Congratulations to Nicole. I loved the first three books of Outlander but then it slowed down. But I finish them!

message 759: by Shannon (new)

Shannon (lumee23) | 39 comments Well I haven't had a chance to read in forever. Work sucks :(

I had read Mr Darcy to the Rescue, Denial of Conscience, A Sense of Obligation and Epic Fail. I have been "reading" The Deception at Lyme since September lol. I am 48/51. So close!!!

I need to catch up with all the new books that came out though! I am going on a LONG cruise the beginning of the new year and will be reading my heart out to make up for the last couple of months.

message 760: by Sophia (new)

Sophia (sophiarose) | 757 comments Mod
Hey Shannon!

Good to see you back in the saddle now. Work can be so disruptive of a person's reading. LOL!

You are soooo close. Got any novellas on that pile you can whip through in a month and a half?

Oh, but a cruise does sound just the thing to re-charge your batteries for the New Year. Look forward to seeing what you get read and hope you can join us again for the challenge in 2016.

message 761: by Shannon (new)

Shannon (lumee23) | 39 comments With some late nights I was able to hit #51 :)

I read P.O. Dixon's Lady Elizabeth books (#49 and 50) and I just read the Netherfield Affair (#51). Admittedly I cheated a bit as they were all on the shorter side.

I enjoyed being able to have some reading time again!

Currently I am reading the second book in Netherfield Affair series and will probably wrap up that series.

message 762: by Sophia (new)

Sophia (sophiarose) | 757 comments Mod
That's fabulous, Shannon! Woohoo! *tossing the virtual confetti*

Glad you hit your goal and still have room for more. The Netherfield Affair series must be really good. I'll have to check it out.

*whistles appreciatively* This knocks my socks off, Sheila. I see so many I loved, too, and also several still on the pile. But, yum, a few I didn't know about.

Erika (eureeka75) | 92 comments Nice list Sheila!!!

message 774: by Mary (new)

message 777: by Kim (last edited Nov 30, 2015 02:09PM) (new)

Kim (allthelovelypages) | 22 comments Wow! I can't compete with Sheila! I only finished 4 JAFF books, but I did read 2 other non-JAFF. This month I read Death of a Fop, Sun-Kissed: Effusions of Summer, Darcy's Ultimatum: A Pride & Prejudice Variation and A Spot of Sweet Tea: Hopes and Beginnings Short Story Collection.

I'm right behind you Kirk with my YTD total of 65.

message 778: by Talia (new)

Talia (kneyda) | 243 comments I have been reading JAFF but lots of things I have already read this year so I am not counting them. Is that right?

message 779: by Sophia (new)

Sophia (sophiarose) | 757 comments Mod
@Kim- you still got a nice pile of reading done. I want to read Darcy's ultimatum. That looks good.

@Talia- that is right, only Austen, Austenesque or books with strong Austenesque flavoring count for the challenge.

message 780: by Sheila (new)

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 138 comments Since I was already over my challenge number I didn't separate out the Non-JAFF books but I have posted other books this year on another Goodreads group, "It's Not Jane Austen but It's Really Good". I posted 21 books there. I aim for 150 books per year and have 6 to go...but I did read one more today and have to post the review. Sorry if it seems like bragging. I am retired and can indulge after all these years. Reading has always been a passion with me...pure escapism!

Not at all, Sheila! You are not bragging; you're sharing and we're glad to see what you're reading. And I knew you were well over your challenge numbers and it was easier to post the whole group than sort. We can figure out by clicking on them. You're fine. Keep enjoying those wonderful books and sharing your thoughts.

Yes, I think I read another 5 or 6 books in their entirety. I wasn't posting about them because I had already read them this year.

Oh noes....let the battle for 15th place(or something) begin! *Shelves silly non-Austen December planned readings of all Shakespeare and American Civil War A-Z! :) And Sophia is right on our heels too with 62!

message 786: by Susan (new)

Susan (vesper1931) Having read 116 JAFF this year plus several hundred unpublished works I think I will spend the rest of the year carrying on just reading crime books, instead of alternating between the two genres, and that will leave me with about 50 unread ones to begin next year's challenge.

message 787: by Sophia (new)

Sophia (sophiarose) | 757 comments Mod
And another amazing year of reading. Neatly done, Susan! I think that's a good plan. Cozy up by the fire with a good mystery. :)

Amaze-balls, Erika!

Other than one, it looks like you had a great reading month. I see a couple on your list that I want to devour, too.

Look forward to your thoughts on Villa Fortuna.

message 790: by Erika (new)

Erika (eureeka75) | 92 comments @Sophia, so far I'm loving Villa Fortuna. It was a bit difficult to get into at first all the characters names are not the same as P&P, except Elizabeth's. But once I got the new names in coordination to who they are in P&P it's been great!!!

message 791: by Sophia (new)

Sophia (sophiarose) | 757 comments Mod

Hope you're enjoying Villa Fortuna,I've included it my Somebody choose for February list.

Saw the 80 books you posted recently-some fantastic titles..... You're certainly going to be busy in the next few months, but happily so!!!!!

message 793: by Erika (new)

Erika (eureeka75) | 92 comments Hey Mary, what can a girl say, I love my books. That and I have so many on my TBR list that I'm trying to shrink!! Lol And luckily with technology, I can always have a book at the ready!!!!

message 794: by Sheila (new)

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 138 comments I love lists like Erika's with the ratings included. I makes me go to Amazon, read the Book Description and other reviews and than possibly make a purchase. I so want to read Villa Fortuna - we'll see about that soon.

Erika, I am very impressed with your November list.

message 795: by Erika (new)

Erika (eureeka75) | 92 comments Sorry, I would put the links to the books in my end of the month summaries, but I haven't been able to figure that out how to do it on the iPhone app.

message 796: by Sheila (new)

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 138 comments That's OK. It is easy for me to copy and paste into Amazon and I have already added a few to my Wish List (and picked up one on kindle Unlimited) from your list. Thanks.

Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 138 comments I am almost finished reading Villa Fortuna - Pride, Prejudice, and a Haircut - smiling through most of it and it is a romp...Italian style. Shame and prejudice with tons of sexual innuendos. You gotta love those girls.
