History (just a vague outline): (view spoiler)[During the Middle Ages, a fight broke out between Wiccan and human. This drove Wiccan into hiding, because the humans wanted their powers for greed and power. In this new world, the Imperium was formed and five people came to stand as the central government; Addalyn Candolor, Elizabeth Meridian, Dashiell Benette, Peter Valence and Tristan Carmichael. Throughout time the Valence family became jealous of the Carmichaels who had extraordinary powers and supreme rule. This led to the murder many centuries later and near extinction of that family. They never had a strong interest in politics but when it came down to the law, they made the difference in votes. In the past, the Benette family have always had a history of taking in hybrids. They had a soft spot for the creatures, and had several laws passed to benefit their protection. This was potentially because the first Benette, Dashiell had a human wife. When the supposed extinction of the Carmichael line occurred, the Candolor family were the people who sneaked the child out of the room that night and saved the household. History: (view spoiler)[The Meridians have always hated the Carmichaels, maybe even more than the Valences. This forced the two families into an alliance, bonded by their hatred. Unfortunately, the Meridian grudge was born from a more personal matter. As powerful as the Carmichaels are, they are still people who can do terrible things. Tristan Carmichael on a very drunk night had become more than friendly with Elizabeth Meridian. He barely had a hold over her powers, and psychically induced her to sleep with him. The Meridian family viewed this as rape, which it was, and tried to get back at them with no avail. They never believed anyone should have such powers like the Carmichaels do, and that eradicating their line would be best for everyone. (hide spoiler)]

Lillian did not know whether the Prince had intentionally flirted with his sister or not. She began doubting herself after she stared at him so blatantly, making an absolutely fool of herself. Of course, she had been a little deterred as he remained boldly staring back. His blue eyes were so vivid and he was indeed a handsome prince. She for a moment had inspected him, unknowingly. Not realizing that her dear drunken sister had left and she now stood in front of the Crown Prince nearly the middle of the ballroom floor. Luckily for them, the music had resided and no one had been dancing.

“Apologies again, I am Lillian Grant. “ Lillian said once she realized her foolishness. Of course, the Prince likely didn’t understand and must think of her as a weird woman. “I am sorry for wasting your time, your excellence.” She said giving a small nod as she saw someone calling for the Prince’s attention. She immediately turned and began walking away as quickly as possible.

What ran through her mind was quiet simple. She was a fool. She had completely forgotten that she had been talking to the Prince and was far more preoccupied with saving her poor sister. As her sister, resurfaced in her mind, she began searching for her.

When Margaret drank, she not only becomes terribly ill but so does her behavior. It was the reason she had to remove her from the company of the Prince and any other gentlemen. As she found her dear sister in another room, she touched her forehead.

“I don’t feel so good, Lilly.” Margaret said her face was red and head was hot. “I’m afraid I made a fool of myself.” she added drunkenly.

“Well, dear, it appears we both have tonight. Let me get you some water.” Lillian said fixing her sister’s hair as she looked at her.

Lillian returned to the ballroom as she called a upon a waiter to bring her water and a towel. She walked over to her mother who seemed joyous as ever. “Mother, may I speak to your in private?” She asked acknowledge whom she was talking to without plastering a smile on as her mother would’ve wanted.

“Yes dear, what is it?” Her mother said as they had moved away from the group. “Oh and don’t think for a second, I hadn’t noticed you interrupting Margaret’s dance with the Prince William.” she said shaking her head in disapproval.

“Mother, Margaret is feeling unwell. I must return her home so she rest and relax.” Lillian insisted.

“Oh, no I cannot have it. This ball is in her honor, it will be an insult if she leaves early and who knows what people will think of her.” Mother said shaking her head.

“Mother! She is ill and may very well have a fever. Would you propose that she cancel her wedding because she is gravely ill or rather allow to leave early now and get well?” Lillian argued, knowing that her mother will not have a cancellation of the wedding.

“Alright.” Her mother finally sighed. “I'll go tell your father. But you will remain at the ball while your sisters will take care of Margaret. And you will socialize, there are plenty of suitors here to chose from.” she said as she left a winner haven silenced Lillian into defeat. (hide spoiler)]

Seeing as though it was finally dark Kennedy made her way into the streets of the town that her kind now occupied. She was incredibly thirsty as she made her way down the cobblestone alleyways. She became quite frustrated as she noticed that barely anyone was out. But it was also a good thing she supposed. Her heels clacked against the stones as she followed behind a teenager she knew she would be able to take down. A small wicked smirk creeping onto her face as the kid turned down an empty street. The perfect chance for her to attack. She laughed inside her head at the teenagers utter stupidity. Suddenly the kid stopped and took out his cellular. The light blinded her causing her to halt abruptly and shield her eyes. She mentally cursed him out in her mind as she gritted her teeth and began moving again. She walked up behind him as he turned around noticing her for the first time. "Oh," the guy said bewildered, "are you lost or something?" She snickered as she clutched his shoulder roughly. He never had a chance at getting away. His energy flew out of him and into her through their mouths. Her body filling with power as he was drained of life. She laughed evilly as his body crumbled onto the ground.

Changing back into her human form she dragged the body behind the dumpster and then slits the boys throat so the cops won't probe any deeper. She wipes off her knife with the kids shirt and then tucks it in between her jean shorts and skin. She snickered as she made her way back around to the front of the pub. It had been an extremely long day so she was in major need of a little alcohol. The pub was her go to place. It reminded her of the old taverns in England and Italy when she was much younger. She hated how much the world had changed since then. When it came to bright lights and dance music you could count her out. Although she's a tad bit eccentric and at times a little malicious she was a classy girl.

The bartender nodded her way when she entered the pub. She was one of their regulars that they knew by name. Probably one of the only ones with a key to the wine cellar gate. Strolling past tables of men staring at a soccer game Kennedy made her way to the basement door. A couple of guys here and there unglued their eyes from the screen to look her way and offer up a wink and smile. She didn't really care for the attention especially from humans. She found them to be repulsive. It's very rare for her to feel attracted or at least interested in a human romantically. They just weren't up to snuff in her eyes.

Halfway down the stairs Kennedy could already smell the barrels filled to the brim with wine aging to perfection towards the very end of the cellar. That room she didn't have a key to which angered her a little. Granted she could just break the lock and door but she liked the owner so she let it go. Once she got to the room she actually had access to she practically squealed. She thrust the key into the lock and gushed into the room with great speed. She roamed the shelves looking for their best vintage. Once she found her favorite she brought it over to the table and uncorked it. Smelling the aroma as soon as it came out. Her eye lashes fluttered as she took a swig of the liquid. Heavenly. Kennedy knelt down and searched the cabinets under the table for her stash. She grabbed her copy of vogue and plopped down into the old brown leather couch placed perfectly in the corner. Leaning back she took another drink out of the bottle and propped her feet up on an old dusty stool. (hide spoiler)]

Lily couldn't believe such a thing has happened! Cole had always been so sweet to her! The fact that she was now running from him terrified out of her mind was not something she ever expected to be doing. She was beyond exhausted but she pushed herself to keep running. She had long since lost track of where her brother Lucas had ran off to. The woods were to big to keep track of where each other were when splitting up had been the best option.

She could feel her lungs burning as she forced herself to run faster. She could hear Cole running behind her trying to catch up to her. She could also hear him calling, mocking her. "LILY! OH LILY SWEETHEART! COME ON BABE DON'T RUN FROM ME! I JUST WANNA HAVE SOME FUN!" She felt a shudder pass threw her as she heard his mocking laugh ring out threw the dark forest. "I can't believe I dated that psychopath!" She panted out of exhaustion. She didn't know how long she'd been running but based on the fact that she had a killer stitch in her side and was ready to pass out it had probably been awhile.

Lily was terrified. She knew for a fact that if he caught her he'd kill her. She knew he would considering he had just set fire to her house here in this small town. Her parents had been in that house and now they were dead. She was just glad to have made it out alive with her brother. She felt a thrill of panic shoot threw her at the thought of Lucas. She was worried that Cole had found and killed him. No! she thought to herself, "don't think like that! You and Lucas are going to be just fine! It was very reassuring but it was the best she had.

For some reason unknown to her Lily decided to look over her shoulder the second she stopped hearing Cole's continuous mocking calls to her. And in that making of such a stupid mistake that you see in horror movies all the time she tripped. Just like in the movies. She quickly stood and looked around not seeing anything. Her second mistake:stopping to lean against a tree and rest for a few seconds with her eyes closed. Why? Because when she opened her eyes he was standing right in front of her. A predatory grin on his face and his eyes as wild as a raging fire looking hungry for the kill. That was the thing about psychopaths, she knew, you didn't know they were psychopaths until this moment. The moment right before they killed you. Acting on peer instinct though she kneed him where the sun doesn't shine and while he was down grabbed the knife he had dropped. It was clean of blood thankfully. That meant he hadn't killed her brother. She knew because if he had he'd want to show her. Suddenly he straightened up and lunged at her. Acting on peer instinct and fear alone she brought up the knife and gutted him in the stomach. Stunned by her actions she dropped the knife and ran. (hide spoiler)]
