Right now I'll start chapter 8:

I don't think [spoilers removed]"
Me too!

In hindsight, I kinda agree XD

(view spoiler)

The first problem is the Dutch translation: translations are alwasys a bit tricky, but there were many mistakes, spelling mistakes, sentences that made no sense...So, that's a bit of a bumper.
But about the story itself: the story was divided in 3 parts:
- the present of Emmett
- the past of Emmett
- the story of Lucian
Sometimes it feels that the parts are not connected to each other. There are lacks in it and chances where the stories can connect, but didn't. I wanted to know more about the binding, Seredith and her her connection with De Havilland, but none of that.
The story read a bit shallow and slow. I had the feeling that there could be done more with this book, with the theme binding memories in books...

I had that feeling too! I was soo confused, untill I noticed that Lucian was telling his version.

It was the blurb that made me want to read this book, but I'm lef tin the dark about how bindings work. There was so little explenation about it.

I read it in English, and I was not terribly impressed by the language so I would not blame everything on the translation. :)
I entirely agree with the lack of connection between the parts!
Aw man! Why would they do that to us? 🤦♀️😢
