I'm on the waiting list :(. It's a big book so hopefully I will be able to catch up to you.

it helps that I am listening to this on audio - i..."
They are awesome. Try one I bet you will be hooked

One of my favourites (Sirius!)"
I love Sirius, too. This is the book we meet him in? Yay! He was mentioned in book one (Hagrid borrowed his motorcycle to fly baby Harry to the Dursleys). :-)
Yes, this is where we meet him and find out much more info about the night that Harry's parents died

I'm sure I'll remember more once I get started, but all I remember about it now is that this is the book where we first learn about the Dementors.

I probably won't slow down as I'm feeling pressure from my plan for November to read as much as I can in October, but it might take me two days to read this one. It is the longest of the first three, after all. ;-)
I too hate to pause my reading for comments, but as food breaks and potty breaks are mandatory, I'll lengthen those breaks to make comments. ;-)

And the Night Bus which is awesome ;)"
I don't remember the Night Bus. (Yay! I'll be surprised!)

You are making me wish to read it again"
Darn it. I couldn't remember who teaches Defense Against the Dark Arts in this book, but now I know. I had forgotten about Lupin. I really like him, too.

I'm reading British versions this round and I miss al those nice images and fonts *sigh*
Ok ch 1 - not far

My problem mostly is that I can't remeber what is book and what is movie thing. I read and watched them so many times it's all mixed up. p

I've wanted to read them for some time now, but they are usually too short to work for challenges. Maybe I should use this chance before TT starts and read them

We re-watched Goblet of Fire last night as my husband recently read the book. The whole movie he was commenting on what they missed it changed... :o
I enjoyed the movies, but there is nothing like the books.
When my nephew went to HP world he bought a monster book!

Rest assured, you did get a head start. I haven't started the book yet. After I finished my review of book two, I fiddled around on Goodreads, mostly updating my various October challenges, so while I didn't go to sleep until almost 2a my time, I also didn't start the book.
I plan to start book three as soon as I finished checking on my TT-IV team thread. I think that will finish out my notifications for this morning and I'll then be clear to read. :-)

I'll do better in few hours when I go to bed :)

Loved (view spoiler) in Chapter One ("Owl Post") and the Knight Bus in Chapter Three ("The Knight Bus" lol). LOVE the Weasleys and Professor Lupin. I love the scene in Chapter Five, (view spoiler) :-) And we've now (view spoiler) (Chapter Five). *shudder* ... Fun times!
In other words, I'm really loving this story. :-)
:)
I love the remedy for dementors - what kid wouldn't want chocolate?! It is the perfect light/dark that is a key theme in these books

I would have rather had taffy when I was a kid. Still would as an adult, too. ;-)

Is that a before or after Chapter Six spoiler? I haven't read more than the title of Chapter Six yet. lol
One more refresh of Notifications and then it's back to reading for me. :-)

Chapter 7
from first DADA class :)

Oh, THAT Grim. ;-)
Has anyone else seen Muppet's Treasure Island? If you ask me, I think it quite likely that Professor Trelawny is related to Squire Trelawny. Siblings, by chance? lol ;-)

P.S. If you're not doing a reread - and unless you remember what it is that Hermione isn't telling Ron and Harry - you'll probably want to avoid reading that spoiler until after you've finished the book.

Ah yes, I forgot about Hermoine's little helper in this one"
Me too, Karen! It's one of my most favorite movies. :-)
And I'm sorry that I only just now added an addendum to my last comment.

(view spoiler)[ lol, that firebolt. Yeah, Harry has a admirer. They sure are mad for a long time at Hermione. The poor girl. She is so stressed during this book. Just too many classes. (hide spoiler)]
