I am picking up my copy of this book tomorrow at my local Public Library. I am looking forward to reading it.

Hey Tracey,
This is one I haven't been able to get my hands on.
I'll leave the discussions up in the "Books" section so that we can continue reading and talking :D but, but we'll move on to new books officially January 1st. WOOOO! Haha
Have you started it yet??

Sharon wrote: "I have this on hold at the library but the wait is four weeks so not likely to get to it."Hi Sharon, I'd be more than happy to wait until your copy comes in if you like, then we can read it together.
Sharon wrote: "Ok great I’ll keep you posted. Thank you!"You're welcome. Hey Jenny, have you read this yet? Do you want to join us in a few weeks?

Jenny wrote: "Eden, Sharon and Tracey have you started reading this book?"Not sure about Eden but I’m waiting until Sharon has her copy so you still have time if you want to join us.
Sharon wrote: "It literally just became available to me so let’s go!"Oh wow, really? That’s awesome! I have my copy but am going in for surgery tomorrow so probably won’t get any reading done for the next 2-3 days or so. Jenny, do you have a copy ready or do you need a bit of time?
Good luck with surgery Tracey! Just let us know when you can start. I have plenty of others to read 😊

Hi ladies, I’m out of hospital now and just DNFd my current book so am ready to start reading A Single Thread by Tracy Chevalier. Shall we start on the weekend?
Yeah - I started to read this book today. Tracey and Sharon, I am looking forward to discussing this book with you both.
We have to pack our house this weekend to prep for new carpet but I have 10 hours of car ride Monday and Tuesday so I’ll catch up!
Sharon wrote: "We have to pack our house this weekend to prep for new carpet but I have 10 hours of car ride Monday and Tuesday so I’ll catch up!"The fact that you can read in the car is impressive and don’t worry, I’m not a super quick reader.
I agree! She’s just learning to organize the supply cabinet. Not doing the 10 hour car ride but I’ll do some reading today!

Hi guys, how’s the buddy read going? I’m about 50 pages from the end but wanted to see how you were all doing. This is such a feel good read for me.
It’s great! A little over half way. She’s just getting the tour of the bells. Who knew there was so much to it?!
Sharon wrote: "It’s great! A little over half way. She’s just getting the tour of the bells. Who knew there was so much to it?!"I agree Sharon, I was fascinated to learn about the bell ringing too and even went to see if I could find a video so I could listen to it. Here’s a link for anyone else interested: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=r4eGCtO...
Finished! I was sad for Violet, she had such a hard life. It was a good book and I enjoyed learning about the Broderers and the Bell Ringers!
I've finished too Sharon, and I loved it! I thought the cover could have included a bell given how much the bell ringers were part of the story, don't you? How are you going Jenny?
I meant to also say I was so sad she lost her needle book - made the attempted rape even more tragic 😢
Sharon wrote: "I meant to also say I was so sad she lost her needle book - made the attempted rape even more tragic 😢"Oh yeah, the needlebook! My heart sank at that realisation too.
Sorry, Tracey and Sharon for taken so long in discussing this book. I am trying to protect my communities 100-year-old Gandolfo Gardens. The Victorian state government wants to cut it down to use as a parking lot work the contractors. This book is 4 stars for me. I loved learning about the needlework club at the church. In some way, I relate to Violet's pain about leaving her mother and going to live on her own.
I agree with you Sharon and Tracey very sad that the attempted rape caused her to lose her needlebook.
I enjoyed reading about the Society of Broderers and their role in local churches.
Hi guys, just popping back into this discussion thread to let you know I just published my review of A Single Thread on my blog and here on GR.Enjoyed hearing your thoughts too Jenny. It was a 5 star read for me 😊
