In Once Upon a River, Bess Armstrong wears an eye patch. She reads auras(?). When looking at someone with her defective eye, she sees their true character.

In The Other Bennet Sister Mary has to get spectacles (which of course vexes her poor mother’s nerves). It becomes a key plot point for a while.
I think Warcross and Wildcard would both work for this because the players use glasses and later contacts that allow them to play the game but also overlay the real world with a sort of enhanced reality. Plus, if you read both, you can use one to fill the Book Set in Japan prompt.
I read Polaris Rising and the male lead has enhanced vision due to some super secret genetic experiments. It's a fun space adventure romance.
I read Countdown 1945: The Extraordinary Story of the 116 Days that Changed the World. I'm sure that more than one of the main "characters" wore glasses but most notable was President Harry S. Truman.

Thank you, I've been have trouble with this prompt. I have Shades of Grey and now I have an excellent excuse to read it.
The main character of Revelation Space has both! Initially, he has cybernetic eyes that allow him darkvision. Later in the story, his eyes stop working, and he's blind. Then they get fixed, but poorly, so he can only see in monochrome and 3-4 frames per second.
I imagine someone else has already mentioned V.E. Schwab's A Darker Shade of Magic. I assume the other two books in this trilogy include the same vision enhancement for at least 1-2 characters..
I read Daredevil: The Man Without Fear by Paul Crilley. It's an interesting adaptation of the classic graphic novel.
I just started reading Haben: The Deafblind Woman Who Conquered Harvard Law, so far it's interesting and well written.

Yes! I'm reading this right now and I meant to come here to recommend it. It's not the book I'd planned and it's very serendipitous that the last category I have yet to fill was filled by a book I just picked up.
I'm about 1/3 through and it's very good, so I recommend for anyone who likes (high) fantasy.

If anyone is still looking for a book for this category, I just finished We Are All the Same in the Dark and I'd recommend it. A main character is missing an eye.
