Yep, he's on the list from when we did this before.

Yes. The only discussion relating to it that I found was about format and page count.

Yes. I looked at the original task and a hyphenated name counts as 2 of the 3 names.

Does this mean we can use a criteria twice in one round? Or do we have to use 10 separate criteria per round?
For example, if I plan to complete the sub-challenge only once, could I still read two books that fit A1?

10 different authors, 10 different criteria, each round. As there are only 15 criteria, if you repeat, naturally some will have to be repeated. And with 15 criteria, you can do it 3 times using any single criteria only two times.

2 Author born 1914-18 OR 1939-45
wikipedia shows Rosemary Hayes' birthday as
Rosemary Hayes (born December 10, 1942)
One of the main page genres is "Young Adult'; however, there is no Lexile score for this novel.
BPL is
Location: Dekalb YA Fic
Call #: FIC HAYES
Here's the link: BPL The Blue Eyed Aborigine
I'm a couple of chapters into the novel right now, and there is some rather graphic violent content -- I wouldn't put it as YA, but then, I'm not a librarian.
My question: can I use this book for CYOA B2?
Thanks

BPL shelves it as YA fiction, and without a Lexile it will not qualify for CYOA.

Drat. Thanks though for the quick reply

Does any of this info allow him to qualify for C4 or C5?
Wikipedia says he wrote several articles for the Vancouver Province (newspaper)......
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malcolm...
Wiki also says he wrote short stories (which were published posthumously, so I don't know if it counts)
The New Yorker says he wrote a screen play for "Tender is the Night" (wikipedia also says he screen wrote in the 1930s when living in LA).
https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/20...
This book: https://books.google.ca/books?id=lKXi...
also refers to his screen play

He fits C4. Fiction, short stories, essays/nonfiction.

Thank you, Elizabeth! Happy days!

Unfortunately, no. The original task said, in part, Initials, name suffixes (Jr, Sr) and name prefixes (la, de, l' etc.) will not be counted as separate names

:-) Yes - it's good to have options.

You're in luck! This edition: The Cockroach is the one that is the MPE at exactly 100 pages. But hurry to read and post, because that could change to a lower number and you'll want to lock it in.

Ok. I will.

Yep!

Definitely. I love the research you all are willing to do.

Yes!

Based on above, I won't be able to claim this for the initials + surname task, is that right?
And... could we claim the 2 names being of 'different' author or not?
10 days to the end of the Season and I'm still asking questions, sorry :)
And thanks!

Unfortunately, she wrote this as Marion Chesney, so, no, it won't work for the initials option of CYOA. Did you know she died last year? I don't know if you have used the born in one century died the next or the No L. She also would work for veteran author and, surprising to me, as a journalist.
She wrote under several pseudonyms, so if you were asking if you could stop listening and put her off to Blackjack and the Diamond Two, she works there also.
