5.1. Name Calling!
Numerous awards are named after an individual - just a few examples are the Bram Stoker award, the Agatha award, the Edgar award, the Hugo award.

Read a book with a person's first name in its title/subtitle/series title. The first name must be used as a first name in the title/subtitle/series title and must be the name of an actual character in the book. Initials do not work - it must be a name.

TraceyL | 1069 comments Does Misery work as being used as a first name in the title? The main character is the author of a series of books about a woman named Misery.

no. I'll revise the task description to make it clear that the first name has to be that of an actual character in the book.

Ok no worries.
Thanks.

Aprilleigh (aprilleighlauer) | 1261 comments Do one-word names work for characters that don't have a last name? I'm thinking of both characters where no last name is given, as well as characters dating from a time or traditions when last names were not typically used.

Examples include Lythande in Lythande, Beowulf, Antigone, Hamlet, Othello, Faust, or any of numerous historical or royal personages known by only a given name and either a title or place of origin (Prince Charles, for example, technically has no last name).

Hannah is an elephant and a main element/character in the book. Though, obviously, not human....

Sorry, no, this needs to be a person.

Suzanne (perletwo) | 1586 comments I've chosen Teen Titans: Raven, a graphic novel by Kami Garcia, for this task. (Raven is not the bird in this case but the given name of the central character, a member of several versions of the Teen Titans.)

I don't really expect the main page genres to change before I post it this evening, but just in case, could you confirm that at the time of posting, it does not have the mpg Children's? At this time it's got Young Adults, which is acceptable, and Sequential Arts > Comics and >Graphic Novels, which are acceptable for 5 point tasks.

Trish (trishhartuk) | 3675 comments Would "Aunt Dimity" work - okay, she's a ghost, but her name in life was Dimity Westwood, and she is a character in the book, plus the series is called after her: https://www.goodreads.com/series/4231...

Or failing that, how about any of the books in the Phryne Fisher series? The series is named after her: https://www.goodreads.com/series/4099...

the ghost of a real person works, since she's a character. And, since the name can appear in series title, all the Phryne Fisher books will work.
