ABANDONED. YA Book about a girl that is an Avatar, she is in love with this knight but I remember there was some trouble with them. She lives in the real world but gets taken out of it because someone tries to murder her parents I think.

I read this between 2007 and 2009 and I know that a sequel came out around that time. I read it in Portuguese as I am from Portugal, so I am not entirely sure if this is by a Portuguese author or not.
I am not entirely sure but I think the book begins with her having to be taken out of our reality because her parents get murdered or attack. I think the sequel's title has something to do with a dagger and I am almost entirely sure that the title had the word Avatar in it. I think this was one of those clichés of the avatar reincarnates every x years and so on. She had a love interest and that was pretty central to the plot, she had some kind of issue with not being able to be with him or whatever and I am pretty sure that he was some kind of knight. I am sorry that I cannot give any more details but I was really young back then. I am almost sure the book was kind of bad but I wanted to read it again with a new prespective. I search and search google for avatar but all I get is the damned airbender.
