Despite being the king and needing to be with his people, he found himself in one of the little lesser libraries that the castle held. There was something he needed to find, information that couldn’t wait. Because right after the ball ended, he would need to go back to work anyway, so might as well have a head start now with getting the papers he needed and then he could go back to the ball. Or so he told himself. He really didn’t want to be there. He was more of the hide in his study and do work then socialize with people type of person. His brother was always good at charming people. He was supposed to be here. But instead, Arthur was.

Acelin was poking her head in every other study spot or library she could possibly find her father in. She hadn't seen him at all and was worried he had lost track of time or wasn't feeling well. Eventually, she did find him and entered the library quietly, taking off her mask to be polite. ”Well it looks like someone's hiding out.” she said, smiling and speaking softly. ”The music started a couple hours ago and so far nothing but the candles have caught on fire.”

The King’s nose was buried deep in a book as he stood next to the shelves. He didn’t even notice the sound of the door opening, and so he was startled to hear his daughter's voice. “Huh?” He looked up to her, taking a moment to remember everything. “Ah yes, the ball.” He smiled shyly, knowing what he was doing was wrong. “I thought I could catch up on some work for a moment.” He closed the book he held and placed it at the nearby table. “I assume the guest are waiting for me.” Though he said that, he couldn’t bring himself to move.

Acelin knew that either her father actually wanted to work, like he claimed, or he didn't have the energy for all those people at the time. She smiled softly and picked the book up that he had been reading and began thumbing through the pages. ”Well, I'm sure they'll understand how busy a king can be.” she murmured softly. ”Besides, all that work can be tiresome, and I'm sure the people would love a king who can have fun just as much as a king that's devoted to his work.” she told him sincerely. ”And I'm also sure the most understanding citizens would understand the true nature of exhaustion and just how debilitating it can be, as well as how necessary it is to rest every once in a while.”

Despite having moments where the king doesn’t agree with his daughter, there were also other moments when he did. She knew what to say to him at moments, and it reminded him of his wife. She always knew how to calm him down and ease his mind from his worries. It was the main reason why he lasted this long. Maybe she got it from her, because he certainly didn’t have it in him. “Yes, I suppose I do. Though I was never a big fan of the dancing part.” He admitted with a chuckle. “I don’t know how people can keep up with all that twirling.” He then straightened up and held out is arm for her to take. “Shall we?”

Acelin smiled lovingly and took his arm. She knew her father cared for her, which was why he was so strict and overprotective, and she cared for him just as much, which was why she even bothered explaining herself to him over and over again and constantly forgiving him. ”Why don't I request a waltz from the orchestra? There's not much twirling in a waltz.” she chimed, wanting to make the ball just as enjoyable for him as it was for the citizens.

With her arm on his, the two started to make their way out of the library. “I would appreciate that,” he smiled warmly down this his daughter, the wrinkles around his eyes creasing as he did so. “I do owe your mother a dance after all.” He added, knowing the queen was probably looking around for him too.

(( end after you’re reply?))

((sounds good!))

Acelin nodded. ”Im sure she would love that.” she said honestly, following her father out.

All rps after this point are meant to be role played for the royal birthday ball that will be celebrated mostly in the garden.
