Great review! I also read Kindred for Prompt #1. I don't write in detail reviews, but this was 90% of what I was thinking.

Just a comment, you felt you didn't have anything for a book related to a headline. But you could use Educated (her father obsesses about an event in the news, I think it is the govt invading the Branch Davidian compound.) Also Room, while not a true story, is similar to some actual incidents. And The Tattooist of Auschwitz is certainly about an event that was in the news. (It doesn't have to be current.)

Have you read Melmoth?

Entropia | 283 comments Awww, hope you will get to read and relax soon :)

Autumn wrote: "I have been wildly drawn to stories about World War II and the Holocaust. "

Have you read To Steal a March on God? It's bit chaotic narratively, but it's one of few compulsory reads at school I actually liked ;)

Love this book so much. I'm listening to Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption, which is nonfiction set in the town in Alabama that Lee based this story off of... it's frightening to watch the parallels in her book versus real-life Alabama.
