Help in finding book.

I’m looking for a book I read a while ago and I wasn’t ready to read book 2 or it hadn’t come out yet. In the book the main character worked at a bar. She was raised in a werewolf pack but she doesn’t get a long with them. She’s is attracted to and I believe had sex with a lone werewolf who just came back to the area. She isn’t a werewolf and at the end of the book she kills someone but whatever she is the darkness came up and she killed the guy with it. It doesn’t say what type of magic user she is. Can someone help me with this please. It has been stuck in my head and I’ve been looking everywhere???!!! Thank you.

Yes I read the first book and it was a few years ago.

Patricia Briggs has 2 series about werewolves. Take a look at the Mercy Thompson and Alpha Omega series. Mercy was raised by werewolves and is a Coyote shape shifter. I hope this helps, if not, they are both awesome series.

Interesting book. Unfortunately, I tend to read shifter novels like candy and the lone wolf and women leaving her pack feels to common.

The part about the darkness threw me off at first I was thinking maybe Moonshifters then I thought maybe the Pheonix pack
