She sighed and walked over to the bed and rubbed his side.

She sighed and sat down on the chair by his bed and waited.
A young doctor came in a few moments later. He was about in his mid thirties. "Hello there." He smiled at Madeline and walked over to Alex and gently shook him.
"Don't be sorry son. You're alright." He smiled and helped him sit up comfortably.
"How are you feeling Alex?" He asked, opening up a note pad,((What should the results be?))
"Hey come on now, don't sleep yet. Just a few more minutes so I can check you out and prescribe you your medication." He said,
"You have to take a least something." He sighed. "Sit up for me please."
"I know babe." Madeline sighed and took his hand. The doctor put his hands over Alex's neck and felt around. "Hmm.....i know something that could lessen the chances of fatality."
"There's a surgery we could perform to remove the thyroid tumour that is the reason for the cancer." He said.
"How much we can remove? Hm..,probably most. If anything there will be only a little left that might only cause some problems with breathing but we'd have a puffer for you to use." He said.
"About.....hmm..." He looked down at his papers. Seventy-five grand." He nodded.
"He can do it!" Madeline piped up, standing from her seat. "I have the money." She nodded and looked at Alex.The doctor raised an eyebrow and looked between the two.
"Yes." She scowled. "My dad had a will. That will had money. It's all mine."
Madeline turned to the doctor. "Could we have a moment to talk in private please?"The doctor nodded. "Of course. Just call me when you're ready." He left the room.
"You don't have to take it. I'll give it to the doctor regardless." She said snootily.
Madeline watched him leave with a deep frown. She sighed and found the doctor and told him they'll be in touch. He gave her the meds that were prescribed to Alex and carried them out to the truck in a white paper bag. She tapped on the glass of the passenger seat.
"Alex..." She said loudly and tapped harder,
She smiled sadly and flattened her palm on the glass. "Want to get some McDonald's? I know you'd always take me there over the years when I was upset."
She hopped in and closed the door. "Okay...how about cuddles then?" She smiled and put the paper bag in her lap. She forgot to ask the doctor about her stitches.
"Oh..." She trailed off and looked away. "Can we ever? I mean I was on your lap less than an our ago.."
Madeline couldn't help but feel panicked at the speed. "A-alex can you slow d-down please?"
She clamped her eyes shut as her breath quickened. "Alex!" She yelled.
Madeline rested against the seat of the truck until her breathing was normal. She climbed out of the truck and carried the bag inside. She put it on the kitchen counter and walked down the hallway. When she past his room, she watched him for a moment hen closed his bedroom door.
Madeline went into her room and booted up her laptop. She had an email from her mom that just said, 'please. I need to see you.' Madeline replied with, 'then come down here to see me.' She hit send and let out a deep sigh. Then, she went into the kitchen and began to make herself some mac n cheese.
When the food was done she took her bowl back into her room and sat down on her bed, crossing her legs. She took small bites as she opened a book in front of her and began to read.
Madeline jumped at the noise and climbed out of bed, discarding her bowl on the nightstand. She opened her bedroom door and peered into the hallway. When she saw Alex she sighed and walked over to him.
"Hey, you're okay." She rubbed his back and helped him to his feet. She wrapped an arm around his shoulders and led him into the bathroom.
She sat him down on the toilet and started running the water in the bathtub. As she waited, she knelt down in front of him. "I'm going to help you take a bath okay? To calm the nerves." She rubbed his knuckles with her thumbs.
"Well to bad. Now, arms up." She pulled up his shirt as high as she could with his arms down.
She decided to leave him alone while he undressed, stopping the water once it filled up the tub and looked over at him. She couldn't help but check out his near-perfect body.

She bit down on her bottom lip and kept her eyes averted on his face. She cleared her throat and stepped out of his way so he could get in the tub.
"Call me if you need anything." She said softly once he was settled. She laid out some towels for him and made her way to the door.
"Yeah? What is it?" She said quickly, turning around to face him.
"Alex, I'm not leaving until you spill it." She sat down on the edge of the tub.
"I can." She nodded and kicked off her shoes.
She nodded again and peeled off her shirt, then her jeans. She had on a white bra and pink lace panties. She pulled her hair out of its tie and shook it around.
"If it'll make you feel better, I'll do it. Besides, I want to." She replied as she reached behind her and unclipped her bra and let it fall to the floor.
"Do I have to worry about you having a heart attack?" She smirked and stepped out of her panties.
She sighed and quickly grabbed a towel and covered herself.
"What the fuck, alex?" She groaned and smacked her forehead. "I'll have a bath then." She mumbled and dropped the towel and sat in the warm water, drawing her knees to her chest.
She slouched down in the water until only her head and knees were above the surface. She felt upset that he couldn't be around her naked without only wanting to have her. She thought their love was more than that.
She sat there for what felt like hours but it was really only thirty minutes. She washed her body and her hair, unplugged the water and and wrapped herself in a towel before going into her room.
