"It's not rubbing off on me." She shrugged and started to put together the arms. "Want to know what names I like?"

"Shay, Sia, Zoey, Mara and Lexis." She said.
"Isn't that a boy's name?" She raised an eyebrow.
"Don't get angry over names now. Of course we're going to disagree. But you have to be mature about it." She kissed his cheek. "How about you tell me ones on my list that you liked and I'll do the same to yours?"
"Where have you gotten these names from?" She questioned.
She shrugged and put together the other arm. "We can discuss it later I suppose." She murmured.
"Layla is sweet. If we had a boy I'd loooove to name him zephyr." She smiled at the thought, but then let her face fall. "But we're having a girl..hm....Paisley? Evalina? Oh! Or Reegan?"
Madeline groaned and shook her head, then pinched the bridge of her nose. "This is going to be harder than I thought." She sighed.
"I need help getting up!" She called out but then laid on her back on the floor, her belly poking straight up.
"I get it. You're just going to leave you pregnant wife laying on the floor." She said dramatically to tease him.
"Stop doing this!" She burst into tears and covered her face with a pillow. because of her pregnancy, she was easily upset.
"Fine. Leave. Whatever." She mumbled and cried into her pillow.
"Stand what?" Stephen turned around from his computer desk and looked at Alex.
Stephen smirked. "Oh well. Gotta get over it I suppose. Wha happened?"
"Pregnant women get pretty sensitive." Stephen shrugged.
"You're doing nothing wrong man. You're just both stressed because of this baby. But once shes born, all of that stuff won't matter anymore." He smiled.
"I think you both just need a moment to yourselves." Stephen said.
"Want me to do anything?" Stephen offered.
"You don't want to go see for yourself? I mean, I totally would but I have work soon." He sighed.
"The longer you stay away the bigger the argument will be. Besides, maddie is an understanding girl. She may not even be mad." Stephen said this as he stuffed binders and papers into his bag.
While he was gone, Madeline started a bubble bath for herself. She was now sitting in the deep tub with her head back against the edge.
"I'm the tub!" She called back. The door was ajar so he was invited in.
She reached up and took his hand in her wet one. "I am too." She sighed.
"Hmm." She pursed her lips as she thought about it. "Ren!"
She kissed him back then settled back in the tub. "Glad we agreed."
"A sandwich would be lovely." She smiled. "I'll be out in a moment."
Madeline got out of the tub and wrapped a big plush robe around her body. She then patted into the kitchen, drying her hair.
"Mmm, my favourite." She giggled and took the glass from him and took a long sip.
"Very." She smirked and gulped down her glass.
She put the glass down and took tiny bites of the sandwich. "This is good babe."
"Oh boy." She sighed and leaned against the counter.
"Chocolate please." She smiled sweetly.
Madeline dressed into comfy clothes and even started the fire place while he was gone. She cozied up on the couch with a mug of hot chocolate.....
Almost three months later on a dark February night, Madeline's water broke. Alex was calm and got her to the hospital in time. Now, a few hours later, Madeline was hooked up in a hospital bed. She wasn't ready to push yet, so all they had to do was wait. Madeline faced Alex laying on her side and smiled weakly up at him.
She smiled at that then frowned as a contraction waved through her. She whined in pain and curled up into a ball. Her contractions were about five minutes apart.
She squeezed his hand and groaned until she released and sighed deeply.
"I'll check and see." She nodded and checked Madeline between her legs. "Oh! She's about six centimetres now. I'll let the doctor know so he can get the epidural ready."
Madeline rolled onto her back and rubbed his knuckles with her thumb. She still had her eyes closed as she took deep breathes.
Once she was eight centimetres, the doctor came in with a large needle. "Okay Madeline, I need up to sit at the edge of the bed for me. Alex, you can kneel in front of her for comfort. This won't be painless." He sighed and helped Madeline sit up. Madeline tied her hair back in a messy bun and slouched forward as the doctor opened the back of her gown.
"I love you to." She whispered and put her forehead against his and folded their fingers together. She closed her eyes and grimaced as the doctor injected the large needle in her spine. "Ow, fuck." She whimpered and buried her face in Alex's shoulder.
"There we are." The doctor said and adjusted the long clear string that was now coming out of her back. "You'll feel numbing from the waist down in a few minutes. Can't guarantee it will last through the birth though." Madeline sighed and kept her face in his shoulder.
She smiled lightly and pulled back to look at his face. She touched his cheeks with her cold hands and smiled.
Madeline reached for the juice box on the night stand and sipped from it slowly.
She dropped the juice box as another contraction hit her. She scrunched up her face and whimpered.
"Alex it hurts." She whimpered and let a few tears fall.
"Get the doctor please. I need to push. Now." She grimaced and sat up a bit against the pillows.
The doctor followed with a few nurses who began to set up. They took the blankets off Madeline and put her knees up and opened her legs. "Yup, you're ready sweetheart." The doctor nodded and grabbed his items.Madeline, who was looking very nervous and scared, closed her eyes and took a few deep breaths.
"Okay Madeline you're going to take a deep breath and push as hard as you can. Try to hold it for ten seconds okay?" A nurse said sweetly.Madeline nodded, adjusted her position held her breath as she pushed. She then let out her air and rested against the pillows, breathing deeply. "Good girl! Now again please." The nurse said.
