10.2. A New Year and a New Number
The New Year of 2015 begins during the winter challenge. In honor of 2015, read a book with the number of pages consisting of digits found in 2015 - no repeating digits. Ex: 201, 502, 152, etc.

NOTE: ebooks without print versions cannot be used for tasks requiring a specific number of pages. If you read an ebook or audiobook use the page count for the mass market paperback if one exists. If there is no mass market paperback edition, use the paperback edition and if no paperback is available use the hardcover edition.

Teri-K Hi. This is my first time, so I want to make sure I'm doing this correctly. I want to read my copy of A Christmas Carol as shown here, A Christmas Carol, which has 102 pages. That will work, right? It's not listed as children's and is over 100 pages.

Thanks!

yes, that will work. And, just in case, it's verified as not having childrens listed as a genre!

Teri-K Thanks so much. :)

Julia (julia103) | 2719 comments Hi, Can you verify Chasing Sorcery? This is an ebook and the description gives the previous title as Woven with a Silent Motto which is listed as 512 pages. I'm hoping the title change isn't a problem since GR has them listed as different editions of the same book.

since these are all listed together, this would work. Please be sure to note this in your completed task post.

Jamie | 421 comments I have a question about editions and this task

Hardcover has 512 pages which works: The Signature of All Things

but paperback is 499 pages: The Signature of All Things: A Novel

If I read the ebook version, can I use the hardcover and its 512 pages so it fits the task or because of the way the rules work and I'm supposed to use the paperback version it doesn't work?

*BTW this specific book works for other tasks I'm more curious about how the rules work

Thanks!

if you read an ebook, you need to follow the rules for determining page count - so, the paperback.

yes, if you read an actual paper copy, you use the pages for that edition.

Sorry, but we go with the GR info. If you have info showing that this is incorrect, you can ask a librarian to correct it. I'm not sure what you mean, tho, by "215 pages (with literature)."
