Dorian or Rowan - because I love Rowan so much! He's just so awesome and they have a really strong connection when they went through training and she really changed him by the end of it! Although I have a feeling he'll just be her close friend and ally :( Dorian though has become so interesting with the magic! And because he's a prince with magic and is going through a lot now I think they will really understand each other? Chaol is just so cute, but I like the bad boys more lol
Celaena and Chaol were the perfect assassin/captain kind of captain, but now I don't think that Chaol can handle the pressure of her being the queen. I'm not saying that he's inferior to her, no, he just can't accept the whole emotional baggage she's carrying. Dorian changed so much, he was infatuated with Celaena but I think he can actually Love Aelin if they get the chance.
And Rowan. They had the connection. Unlike with Chaol, she didn't have to justify herself. And I loved that.
Ever since we first laid eyes on Rowan in the first chapter?? of HoF, I jumped off the Chaolaena ship and onto the Rowlin ship. Rowan just gets her in a way that Chaol never did, and with Rowan I feel that they are equals in a way A/C and Chaol never were. I mean, A/C was always a better fighter than Chaol, and he never pushed her to be better in the way that Rowan does, and i feel that Chaol doesn't understand all of A/C. He gets the assassin part, but not the fae/queen/darkness side of her. Rowan just complements her perfectly. And they're soul mates-Sarah said that carrannum means soul mates, which has to mean something right??
I'm for Chaol. I want Celaena,like her mother and like her great grand-mother before, to end up with mortal man. Rowan is really, really awesome I won't argue with it, but he is Fae. I wouldn't mind reading about him meeting a mortal beauty and falling head over hills in love.

I've already posted this opinion when I read Heir of Fire, but with the release of Queen Of Shadows next month I'm going to post it again to see what people think about the romance in the series:I want to talk about something important: Rowan and Aelin / Celaena. I see many comments from people wanting a relationship between these two, but I do not want that to happen. Well, I explain myself: the connection, the friendship that exists between these two characters is such a strong bond of pure companionship, loyalty, truth, mutual respect, friendship and yes, love for each other, but a love quite different from romantic, it is rather the love one has for his best friend or to a brother. Yes, He understands her like nobody , he has been through similar things to those of Aelin penalties, itself is very like it and that’s why they have such a strong bond, the reason for their friendship. If you create something romantic anytime, so perfect bond they have would be broken and I’ve only read about a friendship like this in the Skulduggery Pleasant books with the relationship between Valkyrie and Skulduggery. No all male characters who understand Celaena should be a romantic interest. Rowan is for Celaena a brother, a protector, his comrade, his comrade in arms … they are very similar for the romance to be real. I do not know, this kind of friendships, links between a man and a woman are not intended for romance, for what I mentioned. They protect each other with their lives if necessary. Aelin also thinks about taking Rowan to bed and soon realizes that no, they do not see it that way. When she is burning and Rowan sees her naked to cool her, he doesn’ care for her nakedness, and she for him to see; that is something that not many people get. I know that this review will not agree with mos of the people’s opinions, but I see it that way. Rowan & Aelin are like Skulduggery & Valkyrie: they share a very deep friendship, so loyal and so real friendship that should not be disturbed by a romance senseless and unnecessary. Even the “To whatever end” that they share share these two reminds me of the “Until the end” between Valkyrie and Skulduggery (Ay, the feels!)
In fact, I think the romantic interest in the entire series will remain Chaol. Why? Because it is two people, Aelin and Chaol, that must overcome their prejudices, their fears, their errors and the parties of themselves and the other who are unable to love or it costs them. Not everything has to be idyllic, does not have to be the perfect romance of the typical romance novels, but one with potholes, difficulties, mistakes and fears that have to be overcome. So I think that Celaena and Chaol will remain the romantic part of the saga. Neither has stopped loving each other, although they seem. They will have to overcome difficulties until the two meet and accept the other. And, I repeat, it probably will not be many people who think alike . And I do not say this because I am totally Team Chaol, but because it’s how I see it.

Agree with you about the Rowan/Aelin part but not about Chaol. I'm pretty sure it's done between them since she took off the ring. Dorian is going to be endgame, mark my words, guys.
The ring Chaol gave her made her feel like there was a shadow on her heart. That is not a good thing at all, ever, in any relationship. And when she took it off it made her feel better, so I think it's safe to say they're done.

I think people look for an idyllic relationship, as you say, and I don't think that is very realistic. The beauty in the relationship between Celaena and Chaol is in their difficulties and, I hope, their overcoming.
I also agree with all you say about Rowan. One of the things I like the most about these series is the amount of male characters and the so different relationships that Celaena has with each one, not necessarily romantic.

Beautifully done! This is exactly how I feel about Rowan. SJM recently released a quote from upcoming QoS and it's about Celaena/Aelin seeing Chaol again. I think that's probably meaningful....
Don't get me wrong, I do love Rowan. I want him to have a happy ending, too. But I don't know that it lies with romance with Aelin.
When it comes to Rowan, i think that they are the best brotp in existence, something romantic would only harm that beautiful friendship, it's true that he gets her, but idk. Maybe that's the thing that's gonna make them stick, but then again he already lost his mate, so...As for Dorian, i just remembered that he's most likely possessed by a Vlag rn. Well, that brings tears.
I don't really know what to make of Aedion. I haven't got the chance to really get to know him, but i think it would be weird to see him in a romantic relationship with Aelin, though it has been hinted. He's like her brother, not her lover. urgh...
Now, Chaol. That's the guy for her in my opinion. He has strong morals, and now that he has finally woken up and got his head out of his behind, i can't wait to see what he's like. Anyways, for me it's always been Team Chaol, so...

I think you're right about Chaol. They're endgame, after they both get through this mess.
Im still with Chaol ! I love him. Maybe he just dont understand it for now, but I believe their love will find a way. After all the problems, I hope they find their way back to each other.I dont hate Rowan. I like him too. But, arent they sharing even 0.000000001 % of blood? Cause Mora and Mab are sisters.
As for Dorian, IM SO SAD THAT SORSCHA DIED! The King is the MOST EVIL VILLAIN EVER. HATE HIM TO DEATH! Dorian and Sorscha, I think, is perfect together.
Okay so I still think it's Rowan. Mostly because Dorian has already let her go. He's moved on. Aelin let Chaol go too. She took off the ring! *hint hint* and Aedion? I just feel like it wouldn't work. I don't know what it is. Maybe it's cause we haven't seen them together. Then again guys there are still going to be more books so we might meet a new character! And who knows? She could fall in love with anyone. All I know is Aelin is here no more Celeana. This is a new beginning. I think we'll meet the perfect person meant to be with Aelin.

Lol... I'm kinda stealing this from PolandbananasBOOKS, but I am a hardcore Celorian and completely agree with her theory. For one thing I think I can rule out Chaol because as stated in your book you can not hurt your mate, and what did Aelin do? She tried to kill him... soooooo.... yeah. Another thing is that she took of the ring... Also there is a matter of Rowaena shippers, I don't think that Rowan and Aelin will end up together because Rowan already had his mate and they are my brotp. That being said, I shall present Christine's theory, so Aelin goes face to face with Dorian in the collar. And then Dorian being the mind controlled Dorian he is goes to attack her and she can't hurt him because he is her mate. BOOYAH!!! As you think about it Aelin and Dorian will understand each other.
1. They have the pressure of being the heir to their thrones
2. Aelin lost Sam and Dorian lost Sorscha
3. They both know what it feels like to be out of control of their magic.
4. Fire and ice off balance each other well (I know that Rowan is also ice, but as said before he already had a mate and why can't there be a great friendship between a boy and girl without any romance)
To conclude... MARK MY WORDS! CELORIAN. IS. ENDGAME. YOU WILL SEE EVENTUALLY!

I saw someone mention that from Rowans smell and look, he was home to Celaena but again nothing romantic there, just epic friendship and brilliant sass competitions. In the end of book 3 I am convinced that they are romantically together and not just because they have the carranam bond or the because of the blood oath or because she took off Chaol's ring and that Rowan is loathe to let her go back alone to Rithfold. There's a settling and sense of rightness between them that they just have the OTP.
Now, come think of it, Lyria can still be alive. What an intresting turn it would prove to be.

When you first mentioned Dorian, I was like: what??? nahhh.. But you're so right! He changed so much! He's way stronger than before and he understands what it feels like to have magic, but feeling kinda clueless about it. Dorian was out of the game for me, but now I'm thinking he would also be a good candidate..
