Plan A would be for you to claim the Kris P. Kreme profile as well as the one you already have. This would still leave you with two profiles but you would have control of both of them. You would need to create another member account and use that to claim the "P." profile. That would give you the same rights over both sets of books but you would need to login as the appropriate Kris to make changes. The author pages can have links to each other so anyone going to either of the pages would be able to jump between the two profiles. The main advantage is that it doesn't involve changing any of your current author-type practices.
Plan B, when the names are very similar, as in this case, the profiles can be merged and then the final one renamed to either "Kris P. Kreme" or "Kris Kreme" (probably "Kris P. Kreme" would be used) with all books listed under it. The main problem is that people are still likely to add books using the name on the cover of the book so new editions would still be likely to go to the 'wrong' page if you were to continue to use multiple, but similar, names.
