Moonshine wanted to reply, to tell him how much those words meant to her, how much she loved him, but the words stuck in her throat, emotion taking away her ability to speak.

Moonshine stretched on her sunning rock, yawning. She was super hungry and her belly felt funny. She was probably getting too fat. She wondered momentarily if Darkness would stop liking her if she became fat, and then dismissed it. She knew he loved her, after an entire moon with her love.

Darkness approached his mate, smiling at the sight of her lounging on the rock. He had been noticing something different about her recently, but couldn't place his paw on it. Then he realized: She had gotten...well...big. Brooding on this, he padded towards her, and finally....

Moonshine is pregnant!

This was amazing! Perfect! Lovely! Fabulous!!! "Moonshine, love! You're pregnant!"

Moonshine jerked up. "Wait....WHAT!? I am? How do you know before I do!? I am!?" She talked very fast, everything becoming clearer. Her green eyes widened. Will I be a good mother?

Darkness's vibes were one thing: Joy. Pure, loving, joy. "Yes, Moonshine! You're pregnant!"

Moonshine purred happily, eyes shining. They were going tho have kits? Well, she was, but technically.... You know what, it didn't matter. They was having kits!

For Darkness, this was a dream come true. He was bursting with joy. "I can't believe it!" He practically squealed. "Moonshine, I love you so much, I'm so happy that we're having kits- I- I-" Finally he resorted to gazing at her, hoping his eyes would explain everything for him.

Moonshine gazed up at him and then back at the kits. A dark she-cat with green eyes looked like him a lot. "I want to call that one...." She stopped. Were clan names appropriate for these kits? No.

Darkness looked at the kits passionately. "The black she-kit with green eyes....what about Minty?"

Moonshine turned the name over in her mind. Minty. It was a lovely name. "Yes, I like that. And the little white tom with golden eyes will be...Frost?" She looked at the tom.

Moonshine smiled. The kit was had a fluffy tail but shortish fur everywhere else, making him look silly.

Looking down at his kits, Darkness thought about the future ahead. The kits growing up, him and Moonshine together....a life of peace and joy. Meeting her eyes, he tried to convey these thoughts to her as well.
