This book https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1... is not 8.5 but 5.4/6 in the timeline and also based on the comments of the author notes in the book as it falls between books 5 & 6. I read it as per the GR listing and it threw me out of the story.

Also, and I'm not sure if there is anything to be done about this, but his book https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/9... is marked as 6.6 of the same series, but it the story in it is not a new one, it is merely a mashup of a few early chapters of book 7 of the series. I DNF'd it for that reason.

But this book https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1... includes a short story that makes sense in the chronology and could be called 9.4 in the series.
