Welcome to our group, Hafsa. I hope you have fun with our challenges and discussions. Please feel free to ask any questions. Goodreads can be a bit confusing at first.
Hi everyone! My name is Megan and I’ve been on Goodreads for a few years now. This is the first group I’ve decided to join. I’m a teacher in training at the moment and I’m from the U.S.. I enjoy reading across a variety of genres. Right now, I’m reading short stories for a college course I’m taking and I love it. YA fiction, romance, fantasy adventure, and horror are the types of books I read the most.
Hi, Megan. Welcome to our group.
We have lots of fun challenges, some of which are for your favourite genres, so please feel free to join as many as you want.
Good luck in your teaching training and teaching career, from a retired teacher. I hope you get some time to read for fun while pursuing your studies.

Thank you Rosemarie! I hope I can at least meet my goal of 25 books this year! I’m so busy reading textbooks and doing homework that I don’t usually have time to read what I want.
Hi, my name is Farah. I've joined GoodReads a few days ago so I can hopefully get back into reading in 2019 as part of my goals. I used to read a lot when I was younger before social media took over so hopefully I will get back into the habit of reading.
Hi, Farah. Welcome to our group. This is a great place to get back into reading again. We have lots of fun challenges and discussions.
I'm Randie (Nickname!) from Ohio. I love reading and have been doing it since the age of 5. I read just about any book that i find interesting.
Welcome to our group, Randie. You read the same way I do at times, but other times I try to follow a list. And usually fail miserably.😉
I hope you have fun doing challenges with us.

Hello! My name is Ariana. I'm from Michigan. I've always loved to read, but I've gotten away from it a bit the past few years. So, my New Year's resolution this year was to read more, specifically to read new and different types of books. So, I'm really looking forward to the monthly genre challenges in this group. I usually read either mysteries or fantasy novels. Looking forward to getting to know everyone and seeing all the discussion and recommendations!
Hello everyone,I am Alicia, originally from NC but live in ID. Just recently I decided to read more. My goal is to read 12 books by the end of 2019 but I’m pushing for 15 books. I’m already 5 books in.
Type of books I like is suspense, romance, YA (I seem to gravitate towards those), self-help, and Church drama (lol).
I’m excited to be apart of this group.
Hi. I'm Gill from London, England, and I enjoy mostly crime fiction, with a bit of general and historical fiction thrown in for a change (and the occasional biography). I read about one book a week, though I managed a bit more than that last year. I started reading at an early age, and although I didn't read so much when I was working, I am reading more now that I am retired.I look forward to trying some of your challenges.
Welcome to the group, Gill and Alicia! It's good to have you on board. I hope that our fun challenges will help you reach your goals--and beyond.
Lots of new "faces" in here!! Welcome to you ALL!!I hope you find a few challenges that appeal to you and most of all that you have fun reading with us!
Hello. I'm Jude. I live in Shropshire in UK. I have been a book addict since I learned to read at school. I am also trying to write a novel at moment.I sort of "bumped into" the Goodreads Reading Challenge" at the start of the year. My target is 60 books. I know I can read at least one book per week. We have been very busy since we moved in just before Christmas so I have had less time for reading, which drives me up the wall. Still the building work is almost finished so I can get back to reading more and writing!
Welcome to the group, Jude. I have moved numerous times in the past, so I know how you feel.
We have lots of fun challenges to help you get back on track with reading.

Hello! My name is Jacqueline. I am 23 and from Houston, Texas. I am a huge book nerd (My coworkers are constantly poking fun at me because I'm always reading when it's slow). I am mostly a YA Fantasy Romance addict, but I have been forcing myself to try and branch out a bit. My goal for the year is to read 100 books and I have fallen a bit behind. My library is currently more unread then read and I really want to fix that, but I keep buying more books so it just keeps growing.
Welcome to the group, Jacqueline. Glad you joined us.
I can relate to your reading experiences since I take a book with me wherever I go if I know I will have time to read, even 5 minutes.
Our monthly genre for April is fantasy, so you have joined at the perfect time.
We also have a wide variety of challenges that continue all year, and four seasonal Bingos.

Welcome, Jacqueline! This group has made a major dent in my TBR pile but it grew it much faster than it got smaller, ha! I'm making great strides towards my goal of 100 books a year, but my TBR pile keeps on growing!
Hi, Nancy. Welcome to the group. You will find goodreads a great resource for learning about books, and our group is a fun way to do it, with fun discussions and reading challenges.
Hello, I'm Danica. I'm 25 years old this year and I enjoy reading a variety of genres.I've been through 5 years of a toxic relationship but I'm now channelling that into something that's always been a passion of mine - psychology and mental health. I intend to enrol in university for the second time to study and help others.
In 2017 I wanted to read 24 books and got to 22
In 2018 I wanted to read 12 and got to 10
This year my goal is 12 again and I'm currently at 9!
I have 10 physical and 8 audio books sat on my shelf waiting to be read and I've put a ban on myself from buying more books until I've read them - but it's so tempting!!
Welcome to our group, Danica. It sounds like you have a worthwhile goal for your future career.
As for the books, every year I say I am not going to buy any more books until I read my own, but by February that plan is not working any more.
Please feel free to join as many challenges as you like-we have a wide variety to choose from.

Hello! I'm Sylvie, I live in the Shire in England and I love books (groundbreaking). I have always been a bookworm but I have really got back into it in the last year or so - I know I'm not the only one who hardly did any 'fun' reading during college and uni. My tbr shelves have got
Welcome to our group, Sylvie, from a fellow bookworm. It has been a long time since uni for me, but my tbr bookshelves never seem to get any smaller.
I hope you have fun with the challenges-I really enjoy them myself.

Hi, I'm Amy. I've only just got into reading this year when I got hooked into a book and not been able to put them down since. And I'm excited knowing any recommendations on here and seeing all the books I cant wait to read.
Hi, Amy. Welcome to the group and to the joys of reading. I hope our group makes reading even more fun for you.
Hi! I'm Charlotte, from Yorkshire in England. I've started 52 Book Challenges based on prompts for the last 2 years, and have never finished them (have read that many books, just not based on prompts) so am determined that this is my year! I was managing it all on a list on my laptop, but decided to go ahead and use my GoodReads account. Definitely looking for inspiration on the main thread for some of the prompts where I'm a bit stuck.
Welcome to the group, Charlotte. We will be glad to help you with ideas for books to read. I hope you have fun with our challenges.
Hello fellow book lovers, my name is Kelley and I live in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. I just joined this wonderful reading app this year and am halfway through my first ever reading challenge. I have a bit of an eclectic love of book genres only because I love getting swept away in the journey of each story. Looking forward to sharing the excitement and let’s face it sometimes disappointment those journeys take.
This is a great group for eclectic readers. We have lots going on with many challenges and a genre read each month. Have fun exploring and feel free to ask questions.
Hi Kelley. Welcome to our group. I lived in Regina from 1984 to 1986. The winter there is great for reading. I hope you have fun in our group.
Hi, Talia. Welcome to our group. I hope you have fun reading and doing challenges with us.
Don't hesitate to ask any questions, because goodreads can be confusing at times. And I speak from experience!

Hello All, My name is Ann and am an ardent book reader and self-published author. Currently reading non-fiction business books, although I am quite open to most genres (except horror).
Looking forward to meeting and exceeding my reading goal for the year (25 books).
Hello. My name is Lori. I’m a Queens-based writer from New York. I joined this Goodreads group to connect with other lovers of books with similar interests. My reading is diverse —from poetry to various genres of nonfiction and fiction. I believe being a well-rounded reader opens the mind to new possibilities and leads to better life choices. For 2019’s challenge, I’ve set a goal of 12 books a year (one a month) so I can keep those little grey cells active. Thank you for letting me into your group. Looking forward to seeing what others are reading.
Welcome, Lori. We're glad you're here. Good luck on your reading goal! I hope you have fun doing challenges and chatting with us.
Hello! My name is Emilie and I am 16 years old. I live in Washington State (not Washington DC). Some of my favorite books are: The Art of Racing in the Rain, Throne of Glass series, Illuminae series, and the Six of Crows Duology. Some fun facts about me are that I lived in Italy for 3 years. I am also going to college next year because I got into a college program. Technically I am a Junior in High School but I will be a Freshman in college. I am also an avid reader, I have a large collection of books in my room (about 146).
Welcome to our group, Emilie. You have done a lot of great things in 16 years.
Please make yourself at home in our group. We have lots of fun challenges with a wide variety of genres.

Hello there! I may have introduced myself already, but I'm trying to become more active. :) My name is Maggie, and I'm a librarian mom of two from Muskoka. I have loved books for as long as I can remember, and my day just isn't complete without reading a chapter or three! Besides devouring a good book, my hobbies include singing, hiking, writing, and baking. I don't have a favourite genre, but I do tend to finish novels with some family drama quicker. ;) I look forward to making new friends and getting some excellent recommendations.
Hi, Maggie. Welcome to our group. I hope we can help you read more, and I especially hope you enjoy our group.
