Rosemarie wrote: "My cat forgets that there is food in her bowl, poor thing. She is getting old. She loves to open cupboard doors, especially in the kitchen."Ahh, how old is she Rosemarie?
Cats love doors 😂 My first cat opened every door in the house :)
She used to be my daughter's cat and I think she is 14. Her weirdest trait concerns the litter box--she doesn't like change (especially location and type of box). But she is very sweet as well and likes to lick my hand when I am petting her.
Susy wrote: "Rosemarie wrote: "Hi, Sofia. Welcome to our group. I am curious-what makes your cat weird? Mine is weird at times."Love cats 😻
I believe they are supposed to be weird lol
Indeed, what is it that ..."
Haha, my cat only eats if you shakes his bowl otherwise he just sits there and looks at you.

Sofia wrote: "Haha, my cat only eats if you shakes his bowl otherwise he just sits there and looks at you. "Hahaha, you have conditioned him well :)
Sofia wrote: "They just wants us for food and for somwhere to sleep😂They aren't very loyal I think"Mmm, don't believe that. Of course whoever gives food is ok. My cat stays at my parents house often, sits on their laps. But in my home she only sits in my lap.
Also, if I get home and don't say hi to her before doing anything else, she slaps my legs, demanding attention lol. Doesn't do that with anybody else.
Hello, my name is Jemma. Once upon a time I did a degree in English Literature. Now I've forgotten all the terminology but can't imagine a life without books.I own more than 450 physical books through years of gathering them from charity shops or BookMooch, not to mention what clogs up my Kindle. I have to use shelves here on Goodreads to keep track of what I have read and have available to read.
I like to read during my lunch break at work or, rarely, at home in comfort with my cats and a blanket.
I read all sorts of genres, lengths, and formats of books, but I thought this group would be a good way of encouraging me to read with a little more purpose or just plain read!! While I may not join challenges straight away, I will certainly aim to do so. :)
Sometimes I join swaps on SwapBot in the group Carpe Librum, for example "Pick My Next Read". I'm in one of those swaps now, reading something chosen from my TBR shelf by another user. I like the surprise of having a book chosen for me.
All in all, thank you for having me here! :D
Hi, Jemma, we are glad to have you here. Welcome to our group. This is a great place to get ideas for books and just have fun.
We have a huge variety of challenges, but if you want one that is wide-ranging, I suggest Bookopoly. It is like Monopoly, but each square refers to a different type of book. It comes complete with electronic dice. 🎲

I hope you have as much fun in this group as I do.

Hi, I am Aditya! I have started with reading habit early this year and so far I’ve been enjoying it a lot! I am on my 20 books challenge and through with 6 as of now! The challenge section says I’m behind by 3 books, hence experimenting with genres. Would love to participate here and add to my reading skills! Looking forward to a great time!
Welcome to our group, Aditya.
I hope our reading challenges will help you fulfill your goal of 20 books.
Glad you joined us.

Hi, Nik. Nice to meet you too. Welcome to our group.
I used to be oblivious while reading too, when I was growing up, so I understand exactly what you mean.

Hey there! My name is Bree! I am from California 👋🏻 I recently actually made this account on here so, not 100% sure on how to navigate everything! But I love reading. I’ve been reading since I was little. I used to read two to four books a day and I want to get back into reading because I haven’t been as of an avid reader in a while. 😭 I love really any genre. I love the classics, ya, romance, fantasy, sci-fi , crime, end etc.
Its nice to meet everyone! Feel free to add me! Also send me some book suggestions too! I need more to books to read!💕
Hi, Bree. Welcome to our group. It does take a while to figure out goodreads, so please don't hesitate to ask questions if you need help. We are a friendly and relaxed group here.
If you check out are various challenges, you will get an idea of what members are reading and maybe get inspired to read some of the books they have listed. I get lots of ideas that way myself.

Hello, my name is Mary Anne. I'm a mom of two kids in their twenties, avid tennis player, work at Dell in marketing and love to read! I live in Austin, Texas. I'm doing several challenges like ATY and Popsugar and Book Riot -- wish I had found this group at the first of the year -- everything I need in one place! :-) Looking forward to catching up -- hoping to read 50 books this year, and I'm already at 34 so feeling good about it.
Hi, Mary Anne. Welcome to our group. You still have lots of time to take part in any of our challenges. We have quite a few challenges that have just started.
Good luck on your reading challenge, and enjoy!

Hi Everyone, I am Aditya Kulkarni, started with the challenge this year in the month of March. Loving the journey so far, I am more into self-help and business related books. Still, I have picked up my first novel to read as well! Looking forward to having some community advantage to achieve my goal of 20 books this year!
Hallo all :)I'm Myca from the Philippines!
I like to read Sci-Fi / Fantasy, but I'm also very open to other genres as long as the book is good :)
Currently looking for good non-fiction recommendations in the realm of International Relations / Business if anybody has anything they would like to suggest.
Excited to be part of the group and participate in challenges (esp since I have yet to hit the half-way mark in my Goodreads goal of 20 books this year eep!)
Welcome to our group, Myca. I hope we can help you reach your goal. Our genre of the month is Science Fiction/Dystopia,
Hello everyone! My name is Aneta and I'm from Czech Republic. I'm excited to start participate in challenges and make some new friends! I use to read quite a lot but recently not so much. Which is shame because I love reading. As far as reading goes I mainly read YA, fantasy and crime/triller books. Also I'm huge fan of Harry Potter.
Welcome, Aneta. I am a huge fan of Harry Potter too. I hope our fun challenges will get you reading. You can use any books you read in 2018 for our year long challenges.
hello fellow book aficionados I'm an borderline obsessive book reader I'm 27 years old and I work at a local movie theater in a neighboring town
my favorite genres are scifi fantasy fiction and some classics and a thriller here and there
favorite thriller book is the Oracle year by Charles soule which was the best book I read in the last 5 years and fool me once by Harlan coben which is the second best book I read in the last 5 years
usually I finish 9 books a month but I've been currently in and out of a reading slump I'm trying to get out of hopefully joining this group will help me get out of it fully
Hi Salem! There's a lot of different kinds of motivation here! I've been enjoying the monthly genre reads. Gets me out of my comfort zone a little!
I'm sure you'll find something fun!
Hi everyone! I'm Sarah, and I'm a 30-something from Oklahoma. My love of reading began on Spring Break when I was 8. I checked out #8 in the Baby-Sitters Club series "Boy Crazy Stacy," and I've never looked back! My main genres are mystery/suspense/thriller, contemporary romance, and YA fiction. I love reading challenges so I expose myself to different genres and books I don't necessarily immediately gravitate towards on a normal basis. I'm currently attempting to read my way through all the Goodreads Choice Awards winners and finalists for Mystery/Thriller, Adult Fiction, and YA Fiction - it's a slow process, but I've made a huge dent in YA Fiction this year! Happy reading!
Hi, Sarah, welcome to our group. We have lots of fun challenges to help you widen your reading horizon. Great to have you here!

Hi, Bonnie. Welcome to our group. It sounds like you have a good reading plan in progress. Hopefully, our fun challenges will help you reach your goals.
Hello, My name is Carleen, I am from New Haven, CT My reading goal for 2018 is 80 books and I have completed 61. My genres of choice include horror, supernatural, thrillers, true crime, mystery and post-apocalyptic. I will dwell in other genre as well but those are my favorites.
Hello,Oh neat - this is the kind of group I'm looking for.
I've had a good year on Goodreads - I've read so many interesting but challenging books and am thinking about next year now.
I see I can set up personal challenges here (where it does not restrict non-classic or non-fiction, and I really like reading theatre and film scripts and poems).
So, this is perfect, it will keep me focused and not get too distracted - well, maybe.
I look forward to being a part of the group.
Hi, Inkspill. Welcome to the group. It is nice to see you here.😄
I hope you have as much fun doing the challenges as I do.
