My name is Anna and I'm from Virginia, USA. I'll read almost anything, but I'm partial to epic fantasy and poetry. My current fix is Steven Erikson's Malazan series and I plan on reading the entire thing this year. I'm also going to try to read two or three biographies.
A bit about me - I'm 27 years old and I'm the director of music and liturgy for a Catholic church. When I'm not piano-ing or directing, I love to read, play video games, and build Gundams.

i love reading challenges so i'm excited to be here :) i'm Rachel, I'm 33, I live in NYC and I'm a lawyer. I like to read and write in my spare time, I also like photography. My favorite genres for movies and books are horror, thriller and sci-fi.
i have a lot of reading goals this year, i'd like to read at least 125 books this year and one of my goals is to read more ebooks. i just bought a kindle so i hope that'll make achieving my book goals easier!
Hi, Dara, Anna and Rachel. Welcome to our group. I hope you have fun with our challenges and discussions. Great to have you here.

Been on Goodreads for awhile but just getting my act together and becoming more involved! Realizing also I need to be more structured in my approach to reading and break out of my reading habits, genres, etc. Currently am reading Middlemarch at the encouragement of another Goodreads member and best friend. Am almost done! Haven't read a book this long in decades, particularly a classic! Very excited to participate in a reading challenge and break out of my reading rut.
Welcome to the group, jakki. This is the place to get out of your reading rut. Our challenges are fun and addictive.

I'm Sarah and this year I'm attempting to read 50 books! I am a very busy person however, and am still in school, so I have no idea if I'll actually be able to reach this goal but I'm going to give it my best shot- and I think joining this group will definitely help with encouragement! I live in the south island of New Zealand and I have way too many favourite books to count, but my favourite genres are fantasy and contemporary (I also love the odd historical fiction novel and contemporary) so majority of the books I read will be from those.
Super excited to become involved with this group!
Hi, Sarah, welcome to the group and good luck on your reading goal.
You are certainly far away from where I live, in Toronto, Canada.

My name is Mariana, I'm Portuguese and 26 years old.
I've been lurking this site for a while, but haven't really been involved in the community much, I decided to change that this year.

Much the same as Mariana above me, I've been a member of GR for a while but never properly joined in with the community. I joined a group or two a couple of weeks back and saw their challenges. Bad. Very bad. I'm a sucker for any kinds of achievements, badges, challenges and their like.
So, naturally, I've been seeking out more and found this group. The happiness is real.
Hi Ophelia,
Welcome - I also been a member for the awhile but also never properly joined - I am very excited to have joined and become a part of this special community. I enjoy reading what everyone posts and it has become part of my early morning routine. Enjoy and welcome. Happy Reading

Welcome Ophelia, Nancy and Mariana! Glad to have yall here, and that our challenges are getting you into goodreads!

Welcome to all our new members. I am glad you like our challenges, because so do I. That was why I joined the group in the fall of 2016. We have a lot of fun talking about books, too.

Renee, I just saw this question. Definitely start with Assassin's Apprentice, and then follow the publication order of the rest of her trilogies.
There are two different series tracks that you could read separately but they do inform each other, so reading them in publication order gives you the best understanding of what's going on. See Realms of the Elderlings for the reading order.

Thank you

Have a wonderful day! :)

Thank you! :)

I am looking forward to read as many books as I can in this year. I like the following genre:
1. Fiction-Paulo Coelho's work mostly.
2. Mystery - Agatha Christie's few books.
3. Non Fiction (Mostly, Motivational).
I would like to explore Science fiction/Fantasy areas as well, and love to hear some suggestions/recommendations for the same.
Welcome to our group, Priyank. We have lots of fun challenges to give new ideas for books to read.
We have a challenge for Science Fiction on right now called Reach for the Stars, if you want to check it out.

Hi, Jenna. Welcome to the group. Glad you could join us and hopefully you will have fun with our challenges.

I read pretty much anything but at the moment I'm leaning more towards fantasy which is where my username comes from (Memory, Sorrow and Thorn by Tad Williams). I also like some literary fiction and some historical fiction.
Welcome to our group, Maegwin. And thanks for explaining where your name comes from. I read those novels years ago-they were goodreads.
It takes a while to figure out goodreads, as I know from personal experience, but it is a great place to talk about books.
Your goal is the same as mine-to read more of my own books.
Our fun challenges should help you to do that. ☕️📚

This is the first time I'm joining a group, so that's exciting!
My name is Annika (pronounced like Anakin, if you're a Star Wars fan), and I'm a college student from Michigan. Reading is one of my favorite things in the whole wide world to do. If I'm not studying, spending time with family, or cruising on my laptop, I'm reading. (I do eat and sleep. :D)
My favorite genres: historical fiction, almost anything YA, mystery, romance if there is some character development, and anything else that has a solid plot line.
I'm really happy to be on this epic reading journey with everybody! :)
