Thanks!! I'm loving it. So far it's levelling with Brave New World between my favorites!

It's really cool! It portrays a zombie outbreak in such a realistic manner, not focusing on the horror of it, but a rather political view. It sort of ends up being even more disturbing this way cause it makes it all seem so plausible o_O

A few of my favourite reads/authors are..
Harry Potter series
The Book Thief
The Hobbit
Jodi Picoult
Jane Austen
Hi, Michaela. Welcome. It took me a while to figure out goodreads too. It has been over a year since I joined and I have learned about a lot of great books. I am a big fan of Harry Potter too.

Welcome, Trisha. We do have a lot of fun reading challenges, and my reading list keeps growing too. I also find that I read a wider variety of books since joining goodreads.

Hi, Syafiqah, welcome to the group. With such a wide range of books that you like to read, I am sure you will enjoy the challenges in this group. I like a wide range of books too, and enjoy magic realism too.

Well, I'm really fan of reading, no matter the work is by famous writer or young authr who has only few years of experience! I don't have favourite genre either.
I have my own 50 books challenge, but I wanted to participate something like this and interact with others, if it's possible here.
I found out that I registered her like almost 3 years ago, but I am not familiar with anything here, hope will get to know soon!
Hope to find someone to talk to and be friends with here :)
Welcome, Nurlygurl. Glad you've decided to reawaken your membership here. There are lots of new things to try.
Hi, Nurlygurl. We have lots of fun challenges and lots of opportunities to char about books. Hope you have as much fun as I am. I also have way too many books on my to- read list ( that is a good thing!).

i love reading
i started reading with Austen's Pride and Prejudice
but now i'm in love with Dan brown's writing
Not only his writing there are so many authors now ......
it seems like a great group
and i am looking forward for further discussions

My favorite genres are fantasy, mystery/thriller, horror and some romance.
My life is very busy but I try and read whenever I can.
Hi, I'm Carla. I've decided to read 50 books in 2017, so far I'm a bit ahead -- thanks to leaving Facebook, woo hoooo! I like nonfiction, literary fiction, magical realism, ghost stories, and horror, mainly. Howdy!
Welcome! There's a 50 Book Challenge going in the Year Long Challenge folder. You can post your number-completed-in-January there. :D

I guess you can see my name so i wont start introducing part by my name :D.I live in Georgia (Country) . I've been a member of Goodreads for quite a long time but ive never been a member of any group so thats the first one for me. I don't really remember when i started reading (actually it was when i was 4) and neither why i started reading. was it to travel to places i couldnt in real life or to study something? any ways i dont know why i started reading ...
My favorite books are :
Lord of the Flies - William Golding
A Clockwork Orange - Anthony Burgess
Animal Farm - George Orwell
The Clown - Heinrich Böll
Actually there aren't many books i like. But if i like a book i can read them again and again. No matter how many times i read a Clockwork orange i always have different feelings about the character and the book and every time i read it i know that something changes in me just like in Alex. And the same applies to other books.
So Have fun and read books

The Hobbit...yesssss....
Anything Tolkien is fabulous!

- I loved books as a child, and managed to get through a book a night, and fell into a pit for the last couple of years - but last year I managed to read twelve books. This year, I want to read double that!
- I want to read my Diverse novels (i.e. Diverse ethnicites, LGBT+, ect) alongside more Classics.
- I am aspiring to become an Author and Travelling English Teacher.
- I'm from Yorkshire, the home of many famous British Authors. i.e. the brontë sisters; joanne harris, kate atkinson, david peace, jon mcgregor, ect.
- I like to read books at night.
- I don't have a favourite genre, if it's good.. i'll read it.
Hi, Wren, welcome to the group. I agree with your last comment about favourite genres- I just like to read good books too.

I find it odd, honestly, restricting yourself to a particular genre. If its good, try it out!

Hi, Wren and Wei-Tang! There are lots of challenges going for you to join, and plenty of places to talk about books. Take a look around and feel free to ask questions. It's a very friendly group!

I am currently living in Austria (please note the absence of the letters AL). I joined this group to discover new genres and find like-minded bookworms. My favourite books include:
-Mistborn (love me some fantasy)
-Hangsaman
-Hamlet
and -The Portable Dorothy Parker.
I heard of challenges. I'm interested.
Hi, Antonia. Welcome. If you like challenges, you have come to the right place. The challenges here are a lot of fun, and we learn about lots of great books too.

Hi, Caless. Welcome to the group. You have lots of fun learning about new books here- and the challenges are fun.
Definitely the right place for challenges and a variety of genres. Look around and see what you want to try. You might want to set up a topic thread for yourself in the Personal Challenge folder. It can help to keep track of the challenges/reads/games that you join.

I'm Anna from Germany an this is the first group I am joining on goodreads. I was pretty excited to see that there is a group dedicated to challenges only. I started one myself at the beginning of this year and I am a little nervous about it since it includes reading one book a week fulfilling certain criteria listed in the challenge.
I'm not quite sure yet what is expecting me here but I just saw the title of the group and thought: yes, this is perfect!
Nothing is really expected of you, Anna. Just to be friendly. Look around. Join the challenges that interest you. Share what you're reading or how you're doing in the challenges you choose.
You might want to start a Personal Challenge thread. It can help you keep track of the things in which you participate.
Ask questions if you need clarification. Happy Reading!

Welcome, Anna. I hope you have fun with the challenges in this group. Some of the mini challenges include reading books on certain themes, which we then share with other members. I have learned about many new books since joining this group.

I am Rohit from India. I am an avid reader of Mystery/Thriller novels. Usually I love to watch movies whenever I am free but I have decided to invest my free time in reading books this year.
This is the first group I am joining here, I am not aware of most of the rules but I will look into it. I love challenges so I guess I will start with a mini challenge soon. However, I hope I am gonna enjoy it here.
Thanks
Hi, Rohit! This is a great group to start with. The rules, etc. can be found on the homepage, then some of the sections/folders will have a topic thread with information as the first topic. You can also ask questions. Everyone here is very friendly and helpful. It's an excellent place to be.
You might want to think about starting a personal challenge thread for yourself. It helps you keep track of all the things you want to accomplish. Feel free to look at the personal goals of others. It's very helpful to see how members organize theirs goals.
I gave up television a few years back and have been reading instead. It has been an terrific decision for me. Books just feed your brain in a different way. :)
