Red banner on Goodreads suggesting browser upgrade

Occasionally I see a red banner in the Goodreads' style saying that I need to upgrade my browser because from 28th October for security reasons, I will no longer be able to access Goodreads. As you can see, I still can.

I use the latest IE and it cannot be updated!

I have posted a query in the UKAKF and only one other person has seen this banner. He/she also thinks it's best to ignore it.

It has a button to 'contact' you. I'm loathe to press any 'contact' buttons when hardly anyone else is seeing this banner.

Can you tell me what is going on, please?
