Okay, so I saw this book description on an instagram ad and I've been kicking myself for not opening it at the time. I have no idea what the title was, but I remember the plot description was something about an archaeologist living in a world where archaeology is considered dangerous and is banned. I think there was magic involved, but I'm not sure.
