Same here. Kathy Reich's books were too dark for me as well. There was one thing about this series I am trying to finish, the heroine cries too much. Every day in her life she is weeping about something. She is a veterinarian for goodness sake but the books seldom show her working on animals but breaking into tears at the drop of a hat over anything and everything. I do not know any woman who do that so it aggravates the heck out of me.

Yep. I couldn't read her books either. Oh! One of Nicholas Sparks' books was like that. The woman was a nurse but when her dog got a prolapsed uterus, she freaked. It turned me off from his books. Funny how one small thing can turn us off an author.
Funny- if the woman in the book is crying all the time - over dumb stuff - or like in a series I tried to read- way too much of a very dumb victim -(thinks ok to be gang raped cause the guy she's with tells her- the series was bad- two strikes in this one- dumb & rapes). I find enough drama - real & forced- to want to take it to my reading as well... But that's just me! Lol - I read to see people overcome & be happy- my books must have a happy ending!
I track only my current series on FICTFACT.com. I used to record my old ones to but I deleted over 100 of those. It shows that I now have 121 active series and have read 696 books. There are several series I haven't gotten on there yet but that is pretty close. I love FACTFIC.com for keep track of my series.
FictFact has definitely upped the number of series that I read. Having them all listed in one place has made me aware of what books I have and helps me to keep current. Without it, I'd miss a lot of the new additions.
I love the notifications of new books by authors I collect so I can preorder. I just bought a new book in a new series ...I think I am nuts.
Of course there's nothing wrong with that - you are part of a great group of book addicts!! I personally enjoy every second of it! LOL
Life is backwards, first I could not afford books, then when I could afford books I had no time to read, then I had time to read and money to buy books (fortunately I kept most of those I bought, now I have reach the point of time and no money but time is shortening...so many books in collection to reread but habit of buying new hard to break...the budget always cracks first. The book I bought was Juliet Blackwell's first Haunt House repair series and I almost bought the rest at the same time, I also want to buy Kate Carlisle's fix it series. sigh The only saving grace to a book addict is there is less stigma than for alcohol or gambling. Does it count as shopping like a shoe addiction?
I always feel great when I buy six paperbacks for the price of one hardcover...it makes me feel so much less irresponsible towards my budget. No, I never paid that much for a single book in my life. I confess there have been temptations. Right now I am tempted to pay close to 100.00 for The Hornblower Companion but I bite my lip and turn away every time.
I have completed the, "Play by Play" series by Jaci Burton and "The Nauti-Boy Series" by Lora Leigh. I have purchased the bundle for the "Nauti-Boy series. The Bundles are a savings in itself having all the books in the series in one book.
I have 62 "current"
13 "current" but the latest novel has not been released
173 in some state, some abandoned
117 not started
I love that my current goes past the fist page of 50 now. :-)
I would like if you could order on 'how many books read' or left in a series, to see which series I've read the most books in order. There are those series like J.D. Robb's Naked in Death, where you may have read more book than any other series yet you are not even 50% through!

It will also group all the series that you haven't started yet.
I love that feature Deb! And you can use the arrows at the top to sort your series any way you like...alphabetical by title or author, progress or next book.
I have 75 cosy series that I have completed and am half way through a second time. Many of these series have upwards of 15 books, Rita Mae Brown for example has 25, Donna Andrews also is closing in on 25. As each new book comes out I generally reread the entire series from book one (a habit I am now trying to break myself of because at my age there is not enough time anymore to do that and keep up with all the new stuff I want to read. I have 50 other genre series' that I have read/collect that also run into high numbers. EC Tubb's Dumarest series has 31 books, Alexander Kent's Bolitho has 27, Piers Anthony's Xanth runs 38, Patric OBrien's Maturin has 20. All of the series including the Pern series and Darkover and Sword & Sorceress, Ramage and Lestat I have been collecting for so many years and never missed a new book and always reread the series so I have no new outstanding series' to be read except one or two brand new cosy series that I bought in bulk on my Kindle. For fan fiction, I own and have finished reading 350 zines in Pros, 350 zines in Starsky & Hutch, an ebook filled with thousands of X-Files stories..all of which are on my TBR again list. I am currently rereading all my Anita Blake novels all 25 of them and next up are my Dresden novels of which I have 16. It is never ending. At this point in my life I am trying not to buy any new series of any kind just keep completing the ones I have ongoing. The except is the cosy stuff on Kindle..it is like popcorn, you are always reaching for another one and those shiny cute covers are addictive as well. Oh and all my collection of Conan comics that await and Cerebus too all 300 in that ongoing series. sigh ...life is just too short. Never mind the books my son wants me to read like Game of Thrones and all the Hunter S. Thompson books. Oh and I do want to get back to Harlan Ellison one of these days. Then there is my friend P.N. Elrod's vampire and Tanya Huff's Henry and Vickie and her Shadow series. I need to clone myself right now.
interesting to checkI'm following 206 series
current on 55
i check in most when emails come from ff saying book in a series is coming out. then i quickly check in at my sources to get on the list
i have a lot of to be read that aren't in a series and would love that as a feature in ff so i can track those also
