This irreverent, laugh out loud and truly inspiring story is my memoir based on the incredible friendship I had with my father. When I learned of his terminal illness, I had to come to terms with navigating his impending loss and thereafter. His gift of humor was the most healing tool of all - Grief groups internationally work with OK, Little Bird for wonderful group discussions and how we all find ways to cope with loss - I hope you pick up a copy - it's a quick, easy read - many readers share they complete in almost one sitting - feel free to reach out with any questions!

Louise McLaughlin (louise_mclaughlin) | 1 comments Hello fellow book lovers,
I’m a Scottish author, who writes SFF novels and sometimes dark short stories. I’m only on bluesky now: Louise McLaughlin author artist (@louisemclaughlin.bsky.social) — Bluesky
My debut novel is due for release May the 4th 2025.
If you're looking for new fantasy books, I’d love to offer you an ARC copy of my novel, Discovery. It’s an urban fantasy of 70k words. It’s a story of magic, secret organisations and a heroine who is led by her moral compass. As we follow her journey, we find ourselves asking, did they do the right thing? The novel is a fun fantasy story —perfect for readers who enjoy an easy read and an escape from today’s tumultuous world.
If you’d like a free ARC I’d love to know what you think of it.

The gods, witches and politicians all enjoy the daily tug-of-war for control. In a world of constant scheming and manoeuvring, their peaceful world of ruining each other’s day was truly disrupted. What if it was all just a distraction keeping everyone busy until They came back home again?

At the urging of her beloved grandmother, Cassie takes an apparently safe and humdrum job in a government office in Glasgow. However, it turns out the conspiracy theorists are right, and there’s more to the civil service than box-ticking and inscrutable acronyms. When Cassie is drawn into a plot involving alien invaders, unscrupulous billionaires and the highest levels of government, she also discovers that living in her home city is a group of semi-retired gods, witches and supernatural beings hidden in plain sight. As Cassie’s true power becomes apparent – she can get people to do what she wants merely by suggesting it to them – she becomes a vital ally against the forces that want to rid the world of gods and humans alike.

They have only 10 days to save the human race and themselves.

Gene Bans | 6 comments I don’t know about you but I am scrolling through all the books and thinking, “Wow, so many hardworking writers. So little time to read each and every creation.”

If you’re a voracious reader, perhaps you have a day to read Sips of Hemlock? My short novel is not as gruesome as it sounds. It’s not even a horror story. I’d classify it as contemporary fiction though it’s about a potential future. In fact, if you are married to or are friends with a teacher, principal, superintendent, or even a tech guru or business CEO, this book might hit their buttons. We follow Tara, one of the future’s first celebrity teachers when public schools are nearly extinct and private schools are being bought out by bigger corporations.

The book is available on Amazon and through Ingram Spark and, though it just came out in March, I started writing it in 2022. Can you believe it already has four good reviews? (Of course, two of those are probably from family members, but I’m smiling. 😉)

If you like novels that make you think, this one might be a great choice for your local book club. As a former teacher myself, I’ve even included a few discussion questions at the end. (Couldn’t help myself. It’s in the DNA.) Happy reading, friends! Choose something from this list. Each of these authors worked very hard to be here. Congrats to each!

Richard Ferguson | 2 comments Hello everyone. After 30 years of work, the first two books of my 10 book The Stillness Series are now available. The Series involves replacement of humankind by a superior, more empathetic species. 100 free Goodreads giveaways are available. The first two books: Stirring the Stillness Part 1, Voices of Quest and Stirring the Stillness Part 2, Tortured Journey are available on Amazon and other outlets. Any reviews would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much! One reviewer described the Series this way:

The Stillness Series is a mesmereizing dive into magical realism and speculative fiction which explores:

Evolution Through Suffering: Pain and madness are the crucibles from which a new species may emerge. This is not simply an apocalypse tale; it is a slow, mournful molting of one species into another.

Femininity as Creative/Destructive Force: The Goddess is both nurturing and annihilating. Her plan to birth Superior Ones is done in quiet defiance of God's fatalism and addiction to entropy.

Schizophrenia as Spiritual Initiation: John's voices are not just illness, they are ruptures in species-bound consciousness. Michael will inherit them, magnified.

Exile and Belonging: Every character is outcast—ethnically, ideologically, psychologically, spiritually. The cave becomes a crucible for their longing.

Time as Looped Catastrophe and Possibility: Future and past echo each other.
Free downloads of the first book are available for a limited time through the Goodreads giveaway program. Any reviews would be appreciated. Thank you so much.

Stirring the Stillness Part 1, Voices of Quest: A Visionary, Metaphysical, Sci-fi and Magical Realism Novel
Stirring the Stillness Part 2, Tortured Journey: A Visionary, Metaphysical, Sci-fi and Magical Realism Novel

Again, thank you for being wonderful readers who understand the value that books bring us.

Hunter H. | 9 comments Treasures of the Lochs
My first novel is Treasures of the Lochs. This is suspenseful YA Christian fiction, involving a modern-day treasure hunt in Scotland, with a bit of supernatural thrown in. Blending historical fact and Scottish legend within an action-packed adventure, Treasures of the Lochs is an exciting, powerful story of faith, friendship, and redemption. The target audience is teenage and above (some parts would be too intense for younger readers). This book is a 2024 NIEA Finalist in Religion Fiction. It also hit Amazon#1 New Release for Christian Fantasy. I hope you’ll check it out.

This book is more than a memoir—it's a journey.
From the towering skyscrapers of New York City to the sacred, dusty streets of Vrindavan, A Tale of Two Cities is a story of transformation, surrender, and rediscovery.
After over a decade of working in high-pressure corporate and government roles, I felt a deep inner calling—one that couldn't be ignored. What began as a temporary pause became a complete life shift: trading suits and subways for simplicity and seva (service). This book is for anyone who has ever felt torn between ambition and meaning. It's for the dreamers, the doers, and the wanderers who seek a deeper truth beneath the noise. May it inspire you to find your own sacred street, wherever that may be. — Astha Bajpai

message 429: by Abdullah (new)

Abdullah Khalefh | 4 comments Not every love story ends with forever. Some end with freedom. And sometimes, that’s the most beautiful ending of all.

The Kindness of Letting Go is a hauntingly tender, emotionally rich novel about two souls—Sarah and Adam—drawn together by something deeper than chemistry: truth.

She’s emotion.
He’s logic.
Together, they write a love story in silences, in almosts, in the kind of presence that doesn’t always need words.

But what happens when loving someone means letting them go?

Set against the quiet beauty of Edinburgh, this story explores what it means to truly see someone, to grow beside them, and to release them without bitterness. It’s not about getting back together. It’s about growing apart with grace—and carrying love even after goodbye.

If you've ever loved deeply, lost gently, or struggled between your heart and your mind—this story was written for you.

Hi everyone, I’m Lori Rehfeldt, and I’m so grateful to be part of this thoughtful and inspiring community.

I’d love to share a little about my book, Rendlesham Lone Ranger. It’s a true story, told straight from my heart.

At 18, I enlisted in the Air Force—a rare choice for a young woman back then. I wasn’t trying to be fearless. I just wanted to stand on my own and not be a burden to my family. But nothing could have prepared me for what I experienced during my first assignment in England.

While stationed at RAF Bentwaters, I witnessed something unexplainable—lights in the sky, energy shifts, and encounters that left me changed. At the same time, I was trying to fit in, to prove myself, and to stay grounded in a world that didn’t always make room for someone like me.

This book isn’t just about the strange and mysterious—it’s about growing up, being sensitive in a harsh environment, and learning to trust your own voice.

You can find Rendlesham Lone Ranger on Amazon, and learn more at MajorLori.com.

Victoria Sidney (victoriasidney) | 3 comments 🚀 What if Earth no longer existed?
Would you board the last ship out?

🪐 The year is 2290. Earth is gone.
Its fragments drift through the cosmic void.
And I’m opening a portal—for those who still believe in stories that matter.

Hi, I’m Victoria Sidney, author of 14 books.
My upcoming novel PLANET SKYWATER is more than just sci-fi.
It’s an immersive storyworld—with its own trailer, original soundtrack, and episodic structure.

📖 The book isn’t released yet.
I’m looking for readers who want early access, who feel this kind of story in their bones.

If you love emotional sci-fi with:
🧠 The depth of The Last of Us
🌍 The scale of Dune
🔥 The raw beauty of Rebel Moon
—then this might be for you.

🎥 Watch the trailer here:

🎧 Want music from the year 2290? DM me and I’ll send you the soundtrack.

👩‍🚀 One girl. One cat.
The last hope of humanity.
An emotional journey across lost galaxies.
Will they survive—or become something else entirely?

📩 DM me ‘skywater’ if you want:
– Early access
– The 2290 soundtracks
– Or just have questions about the story

✨ If this speaks to you—come aboard my ship.
Let’s explore this story together.
