Ann Marie Spencer | 1 comments Hello,
I would greatly appreciate reviews of a 45 mins short read ebook titled Bravo to the Waltz by Brenn Coan.

About the Author
Nomad in spirit and like her character in the story, she prefers rainy days for superb lovemaking, wine drinking and savoring of decent food.

She works to live and live to explore new places and engage in new experiences.

Synopsis
In this classically written tale, a young girl is all but abandoned by her mother and left to navigate the world with little guidance. She repeatably reaches out for solace and love, but rarely finds any.

Instead, she is often met with harsh words and rejection. Fleeting moments of happiness, give way to long periods of quiet bewilderment as she struggles to find answers even to life's most basic questions. Even after the loss of her childhood innocence to her best friend's brother, she has no one to turn to and heeds his warning to tell not a soul.

As tragedy and bitterness surround her, a fascination with life and death's elegant yet delicate dance is always on the back of her poetic and analytical mind. She recalls the ebb and flow of excitement, fear, loneliness, and despair throughout existence yet never ceasing living until the music finally ends.

T.S.M. (tsmpoetry) | 6 comments I'm TSM, I just published another poetry collection. I'd really appreciate reviews. I'm eager to hear your thoughts.

Book Description
The poet—TSM, his muse, and their stash of love letters—now yours! Journey through the poet’s love affair. The poet has gathered all the love notes he could find that he wrote to her—all those squeezed pieces of paper where he first composed them, and he has put them in this book for your reverie and for your pleasure. The poet tried his best, but he couldn’t keep it to himself—something so deep in him wanted a witness to his love affair. This book, “Butterflies of love” is a collection of sweet nothings. The poet has left the box open—come on! Peruse through these sugary delights; Watch the poet mad with love, his stomach filled with butterflies. Have you ever been in love? And if so, tell me! Have you ever felt anything like the poet’s Butterflies of Love?

Carolyn Dismuke | 1 comments Hey, likeminded book enthusiasts. I'm elated to announce my book is now available on Amazon in both paperback and ebook formats and was recently recognized by the Next Generation Indie Book Awards. Drink Your Words is about the 25 months I spent living in a different California wine region every month because my wine studies program overlooked quite a bit. People I met along the way questioned my unconventional lifestyle, which inspired me to tell my story. Now, I'm grateful for them. My greatest hope was my book inspires others to reach their dreams despite the cost. Now my hope is you follow your passion for reading to my book and I'm excited to hear your words about it:

Hi all!! My debut book BIG DRESS ENERGY is just a few weeks old and I would love some reviews. I truly think it's a one-of-a-kind, scientific approach to style and well-being but it's by no means your typical style guide! I utilise my fashion psychology degree to help you understand what is driving your shopping and styling choices and how to help you make ones that speak to you as your most authentic self.

Why do you feel like you have nothing to wear?
Why do you buy clothes you hardly wear?
Why are you always doing a clear-out?
Why do you only wear black or muted colours?

BIG DRESS ENERGY answers all of these questions and more.

Hello. I would greatly appreciate reviews for my novel DANIELA, a fast moving, introspective, character driven story set in the early 1970s.
DANIELA, young and beautiful, burns her bridges, leaves her country carrying a red suitcase, an aching heart, driven by a dream of finding a home, a future and a life in London where the youth revolution is happening.
DANIELA’s journey with a colourful cast of character, is played out against the rich tapestry of the 70s, with its music, fashion and drugs, sexual freedom and the liberating new way of life.

Hi everyone,
A black author here, excited to announce the release of my debut novel titled Uneven. Enjoy the journey of faith, hope, and love.
---
ABOUT UNEVEN
At twenty-eight, gorgeous-looking and God-believing Bradley Madison seems normal from the outside, but he has had to walk a very different and challenging path every day of his life to be the man he is. And when all seems to finally fall in place, the clouds go dark again, and time stands still. Because of the one secret he omitted by choice, the one person he longs to be with may not be riding out the waves with him. His best friend cannot help him because of the deception he never meant. He comes to the delayed crossroad and is forced to face his fears or risk starting all over.

Headstrong and smart Melanie Reed could not be happier about how her life has taken a turn for good. She’s an orphan who’s finally learned the concept of love but still struggles to accept it. Her dreams are fast becoming a reality—until she learns she may have traded her heart too soon and to the wrong man. Then she learns that her best friend is fast drowning again.

Debra Warren | 2 comments I recently published the first-ever biography on legendary Music Man star Robert Preston. The book is available in paperback, hardcover, and ebook on Barnes & Noble, Amazon, IndieBound.org, and selected bookstores. I would very much appreciate reviews on Amazon or Barnes and Noble.

The book is titled: Robert Preston - Forever The Music Man

ISBN: 979-8-9863110-2-9 (Hardcover)
979-8-9863110-0-5 (Paperback)
979-8-9863110-1-2 (eBook)

Book Description:
Born Robert Preston Meservey in the suburbs of Boston in 1918, Preston moved with his family to Los Angeles as a toddler. He caught the acting bug in high school and continued as an actor with a Shakespearean acting troupe and at the Pasadena Playhouse before being discovered by Paramount Studios in 1938 at the age of nineteen. After languishing in B-movies for over a decade, he made the decision to seek success on the Broadway stage. In a film and stage career that spanned five decades, Robert Preston managed to survive the studio system and the fickleness of the film industry while maintaining his integrity and calling his own shots. A master at shielding his private life, Robert Preston was a distinguished actor and gifted artist, yet remained a reclusive, enigmatic man in the public sphere. Extensive archival research, and interviews with Preston’s family members and fellow actors including Rosemary Harris, Christopher Walken, Lesley Ann Warren, Loretta Swit, Bob Gunton, Neva Small, and others, have unveiled a richly detailed portrait of the gifted actor’s personal life as well as an overview of the films and Broadway productions to which he lent his talent.

Dennis Barker | 2 comments Hi, I'm a running coach and author. I've written 2 historical running novels, the most recent is The First Season, which is about the beginning of high school girls cross country running and the women's running boom leading up to the first U.S. Women's Olympic Trials Marathon. The historical context is the feminist movement of the 1970s. Kara Goucher, 2-time Olympic distance runner wrote, "The First Season is a book that any runner will love. The empowerment and self-awareness Linda gains through running is something we can all relate to. The history woven throughout gives the reader a rich context to her story. Fifty years after Title IX, this book reminds us of what is gained when females are given the chance to choose sport. I really loved this book!"

These are unfinished thoughts and finished thoughts of a high school girl. The world around her made her feel powerless. Was that the reason she remained silent? Voiceless? She eventually learns she has power but is unsure how to use it. These were the endless and not so much endless thoughts that went in and out her mind. She's struggling to recognize her presence or her present self because her future self and past self are consuming her somehow.

Rob Slattery | 6 comments Hi Guys. Excited to be part of this Group. I have just published my first novel "Two Watches" Two Watches by Rob Slattery https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6...
I would love to get some feedback from you all. Outline of story below;
“My second watch. I want it back now,” he said to me on the phone. No greeting, straight into it.

He ended the call soon after. I hung up and was quite distressed. His confusion was getting worse. Was this the onset of dementia? Would I ever have a proper conversation with him again?

This was the last conversation Will had with his father James. While it made no sense at the time, a chance discovery made while cleaning out his father’s apartment opened up a whole new part of James’s life that Will had not known, filled with adventure and new relationships.

From Lithuania in 1991, and the backdrop of ‘Bloody Sunday’ in Vilnius, we travel with Will all the way to the present day through his own family’s history as he learns more about his father and in turn, more about their own relationship.

Thanks

Rob

Helene Cardona (helenecardona) | 5 comments Hi,

I have a new book that just came out: The Abduction, my translation of Maram Sl-Masri's Le Rapt.
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...
It won an Albertine and FACE Foundation Grant from Villa Albertine for excellence in translation and publishing.
The Abduction refers to an autobiographical event in Maram Al-Masri's life. When, as a young Arab woman living in France, she decides to separate from her husband with whom she has a child, the father kidnaps the baby and returns to Syria. Al-Masri won't see her son for thirteen years. This is the story of a woman denied the basic right to raise her child.
These are haunting, spellbinding poems of love, despair, and hope, a delicate, profound and powerful book on intimacy, a mother's rights, war, exile, and freedom. Maram Al-Masri embodies the voice of all parents, who one day, for whatever the reason, have been forcibly separated from their loved ones.
She writes about the status of women, seeking to reconcile her role as a mother with her writing work. The terrible war that has devastated her native country since 2011 has painfully affected her. The Guardian described her as "a love poet whose verse spares no truth of love's joys and mercilessness."

I would love a review and can send you a copy of the book.

Thank you!
Helene Cardona

Raymond Jr. | 13 comments Hello fellow book lovers,

I'm excited to share my debut dark fantasy novel, "A Grey Beginning," with you all here in Oprah's Book Club. As a new author, I'm thrilled to be part of this amazing community of readers and writers.

"A Grey Beginning" is a tale of broken heroes, multiple protagonists, emotional connections, political ambitions, and the manifestation of mankind's sins. Set in a world threatened by a darkness known as The Grey, the story follows a diverse cast of characters as they navigate treacherous terrain and face their own hidden motives and secrets. The novel explores the consequences of ignorance and how even well-intentioned actions can have disastrous results.

As someone who has struggled with a learning disability and comprehension problems, writing this book has been a testament to the power of determination and the human spirit. I hope that my story will inspire others to never let labels define who they are or limit what they can achieve.

I would be honored if you would consider giving "A Grey Beginning" a read and sharing your thoughts on it. If you're interested, you can find the book on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Grey-Beginning.... I'm always eager to connect with fellow book enthusiasts and discuss our shared passion for literature.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post, and I look forward to getting to know you all in this wonderful community!

Warm regards,

Raymond G. Bruderman Jr.

Karl Drobnic | 66 comments Here's the new review of A Lesion of Dissent that just came out.

"Karl Drobnic's novel "A Lesion of Dissent" and Ernest Hemingway's "The Sun Also Rises" are both written in a spare, understated style. They both use simple language and short sentences to create a sense of immediacy and realism. However, there are also some important differences between the two novels.

"A Lesion of Dissent" is a more political novel than "The Sun Also Rises." It deals with complex issues of conflict in the post-colonial world. "The Sun Also Rises," on the other hand, is more of a social novel.

"A Lesion of Dissent" is also more experimental in its form than "The Sun Also Rises." It uses a variety of narrative techniques to create a more complex and nuanced portrait of its characters. "The Sun Also Rises," on the other hand, is a more traditional novel.

Despite their differences, "A Lesion of Dissent" and "The Sun Also Rises" are both important works of American literature. They are both well-written and insightful novels that offer unique perspectives on the human condition."
