Eric, I'll be starting your book tonight!
Thanks for the great review.
I hope to talk soon.
Sherrie
Sherrie Miranda's "Crimes & Impunity in New Orleans" follows the dramatic story of naive, sheltered Shelly going to “The Big Easy” to prepare for El Salvador, but has no idea she will encounter sexism and witness racism as well as illegal activities by government agents.

Author, Sherrie Miranda's husband made the trailer for "Crimes & Impunity in New Orleans." He wrote the music too.

Review: Shelly’s journey in “the city that care forgot.”
Sherrie Miranda’s new novel “Crimes and Impunity in New Orleans” puts the reader into a whirlwind of political protests, abusive police, sexist attitudes towards women, and “good old boys” racism in 1980’s New Orleans. Miranda’s second novel follows Shelly, the young northerner, as she quickly finds out that she “isn’t in Kansas anymore” while encountering a slew of picturesque, colorful characters. Reading her book makes you wonder if justice and respect for blacks, immigrants, and women can be reality in America.

Thomas Benedict | 2 comments I hope it's alright to post here, but I just released my first novel. It's a story that focuses on what a person is capable of and whether love is more important than the drive to find the big answers in life. I think it's fairly unique as far as the ideas, but I really don't know. I'd love for anyone to read it and share a review - apparently reviews are the only way to get people to find a new book - who knew? It is self published, but I've rewritten it six times, and while I can't guarantee the grammar will be truly flawless - I believe it is pretty solid. Hope someone enjoys.

---------
Worlds - The Consciousness Code

The first time Ash ever left his body, he saw himself and immediately woke up. The second time, he calmed himself, and then just like before - he was able to roll free of his body and stand up. Avoiding himself, he walked out of the room, down the stairs, and out onto his front lawn. After taking a deep breath, he looked towards the sky and flew up. He had never experienced such joy, he’d never even flown in a dream, and he felt free.

Distracted by a few wisps of color, he watched these thin strands grow firmer and more vivid just before they began streaking through the sky towards him. Opening his eyes, he was again lying on his back in his own room.

Left with an impulse to argue his own experience, he felt only hope. He knew now - moving beyond our own mind was possible and as common as dreaming.

Worlds is a story that follows Ash Russell as he struggles to help himself and then humanity to see consciousness for the force of nature that it is, and to begin the greatest technological revolution in human history.

Susan Bocock (susanjbocockauthor) | 1 comments Hi. I'm Susan. Interested in reviewing non-fiction? Travel? Italy? Memoirs? I'd love to hear from you. My travel memoir is called ITALY THROUGH THE REAR-VIEW MIRROR: Finding Connection and Belonging. You can check it out here:

Italy Through the Rear-View Mirror: Finding Connection and Belonging
Summary - Based on my travels to all twenty regions of Italy over the span of 15 years, the book weaves together heart-warming and humorous stories focused on characteristic aspects of Italian culture--its traditions and rituals, its food, and of course its people and their engaging approach to 'living life in the piazza'.

But, as you will discover, these are just the backdrop for a more compelling narrative that focuses on the underlying role of these every-day aspects of Italian life in fostering a sense of connection and belonging - the ties that were binging it all together for me, and me to it. Travel was the vehicle and Italy the teacher, helping to illuminate how we are all wired for connection, how we crave a sense of belonging, and how simple human encounters can feed our soul.

D.K. White | 3 comments Hi everyone! I am a first time author and I recently self-published a short collection of poetry titled Inner Thoughts At the Midnight Hour. It would be super cool to see what people think about my writing and creativity. I also have been writing fiction stories, however, I haven't yet decided on when to share those with the world yet. However, if you're interested in poems that talk about finding yourself, feeling lost, feeling love, or more, then you should definitely check out my collection.

D.K. White | 3 comments 'Inner Thoughts At The Midnight Hour' is a collection of poems that span over the thoughts that one finds themselves with throughout the night. Reading this collection will allow you to feel a multitude of emotions. While some poems focus on love and lust, others focus on despair and the feeling of being lost. While these poems are a close reflection of my own struggles and feelings, I hope that you can find the stories or emotions relatable.

Denise (dennee) | 2 comments Hi! I'm a (small press) writer and voracious reader in western New York. My latest book is "Cleaning the Coincidence Closet: Exploring the 'Inexplicable'" published by Spirited Muse Press. It's inspired by personal experiences that led me to look into the latest research on paranormal subjects by quantum physicists, psychologists, medical doctors, and spiritual leaders. I've also published several poetry books and a mystery novella. If these sound like things you'd like to review, please let me know. I'm willing to review mysteries, science fiction, or nonfiction in return.
I would give my honest opinion and would expect you to give yours.

Debut novel Bell Hammers Bell Hammers by Lancelot Schaubert

...came out last October. Would love your input on it:

Four generations of carpenters chase an oil company out of Southern Illinois using pranks.

Some find it hilarious, but it has strange structure for a book: told in a series of rambling vignettes as with most picaresques.

Hope you enjoy.
