I am so proud of this past week! (Even if I did have to read books that my students read lol).

First, I read 'When Will This Cruel War be Over?' by Barry Denenberg to fulfill my book with a question in the title. It is a Dear America book about the Civil War. It was a pretty quick read, and also was pretty good, I used to read these all the time in middle school so it was fun to revisit.

I then read 'Tales from a Not-So-Fabulous Life' (Dork Diaries #1), 'Tales from a Not-So-Popular Party Girl' (Dork Diaries #2), and 'Tales from a Not-So-Talented Pop Star' (Dork Diaries #3) by Rachel Renee Russell. I needed to read #3 for my book with 'pop', 'sugar', or 'challenge' in the title, and of course I wanted to start from the beginning of the series! The positive thing about reading these is it's a quick read for me, and I'm reading books my students have read and can bond with them over this book. The series is pretty good as well, it gives an insight into Nikki Maxwell's diary about her middle school experiences.

I also read 'Twisted' by Helen Hardt (Steel Brothers #8). I love this series so much, and highly recommend to everyone! (Warning: this series is erotica and mentions child abuse).

And lastly, I read 'Boy-Crazy Stacey' by Gale Galligan, adapted from the original Baby Sitter's Club. My students love these graphic novels, so I started them last year and love them as well!

I hope next week is just as well so I can finally get above 20 books behind!

Sonya (thelibrarianin3b) | 93 comments I did really good this week, finished 4 books! Getting towards the end of the year and I'm getting into serious-reading mode to finish this popsugar challenge.

Fangirl
by Rainbow Rowell
I read this in preparation to read 'Carry On' by the same author. I enjoyed this book, particularly because I related to the main character so much; I too was a nerdy, shy, really introverted student in college. Looking forward to reading more by this author.

We Hunt the Flame
by Hafsah Faizal
This too me forever to read. I started it on September 19th. Not that it wasn't good, it was ok, kinda. I loved the characters, this author had me so hooked with the characters even if the writing wasn't great and the pacing was horrible. But then she did something in the story that literally made me stop reading because I was so angry. It just didn't make sense for the plot! Anyway, I finished it. I don't know if I'll actually continue the series even if I want to find out what happens with one character.

Reboot
by Domino Finn
This was pretty interesting as it's the first LitRPG book I've ever read. I enjoyed it alot. It did have a lot of technical game talk but it wasn't too much, it went up to the line but never crossed over into too much jargon. I probably didn't mind all that much since it also took me back to video games I used to play. The story was a pretty good with twists and characters that were funny. Overall it was a fun read and I'll look for more in the future.

Gmorning, Gnight!: Little Pep Talks for Me & You
by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Jonny Sun
I loved this book. Yes I'm a Hamilton fan and a fan of anything Lin Manuel Miranda does, but put that aside and it was still a good inspirational read. His messages are all so positive, even when they're realistic, and so heartfelt and uplifting. I actually teared up reading a few. I'll definitely have to buy a copy of my own to look through when I need a pick me up.
