At seventeen years old, Mattie Hathaway has survived her mother attempting to kill her, multiple foster homes, and a serial killer. Oh, and she sees ghosts on a regular basis too. You’d think Fate would give her a break right? Umm…nope, not Mattie.

Dan Richards is the only person in the entire world Mattie trusts, but then the boy goes and breaks her heart. Mattie does what she does best, she runs and lands herself slap in the middle of a haunted house full of ghosts turned vengeful that want Mattie to join their ranks.

Only bright spot on all this? Eli Malone – the gorgeous boy with the beautiful aqua eyes that makes her feel things she’s never even imagined before. She’s not sure what to do with him, especially when Dan shows up glowering at him.

She’ll figure Eli out if she can survive the house. The ghosts are bound and determined to kill her so she’ll be one of them. Now if she can just figure out how to survive them and the demon stalking her, she might be able to decide what to do about her feelings for Dan and Eli.

That is if she can survive the night in the house.

(view spoiler)[ Well I liked the portal seen. Although it's different from the first book it's still good. I liked the story and the finish. The characters are good. I like how they are all connected and can't wait to find out how Mattie fits in. It seems she has a pre arranged attachment to a few of the boys. I also like the way the baddies get worse throughout the books. (hide spoiler)]

I'm up for number 3. I hope you still enjoy this book. I think the story line is coming along nicely and I think the worse is still to come.

Ch. 1-9
(view spoiler)[ OMG I am livid on her behalf. How could her two BFF's hook up behind her back. And Dan, wtf, are you serious, wasn't he just telling her he loved her in the first book. I feel so bad for her. That's such a betrayal from both of them :( Hell maybe this Caleb guy can be a nice replacement? I mean he can see ghosts too so she has someone who will understand her more than anyone else, regardless if Dan is some demon slayer or not.
I also really like her therapist. Talk about someone who goes above and beyond. Not to mention he actually listens and believes her. Most shrinks would just give her meds and assume she's nuts. So far I'm really into this especially now with the added romantical drama. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ I had a feeling about the paint, I mean of course this girl would be haunted by another serial killer. I think there was perhaps a movie or maybe just on an episode of CSI or something where there was a killer with the same MO of using real blood for their art. Creepy if you ask me.

And I kinda love the idea of Dan being able to see demons. It's pretty funny since he barely believes in any of this so his objections and denials just make it better lol (hide spoiler)]

Ch. 10 - 17
(view spoiler)[OK so maybe her rebound won't be Caleb but Eli. Ooooh I kinda love it, especially with those eyes. I'm glad for her, but damn if she doesn't have some major ghost drama going on again. I'm so nervous who her father may be, I mean he could be a serial killer himself, maybe one of the guys she keeps being visited by. Not to mention what the heck is up with this evil ass house, it's like bringing more evil ghosts to her, one is enough at a time lol (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ Omg please don't let this painter guy be her father. I really hope this isn't the case yet I have such a bad feeling about it. Plus hello why does she keep listening to him when she knows ghosts can be super manipulative not to mention this guy keeps telling her he doesn't want Jonas to kill her because he plans to. Umm nope.

And I'm surprised I like the entrance of Eli so much. Kinda feel slighted by Dan. While I feel bad for him finding out the truth about his birth parents and gaining a family, I still think what he did was wrong and shady. Not to mention he's still constantly making remarks about ppl seeing ghosts as freaks etc, I mean how does he expect her to feel smh. I really liked him book one and now I too just want him to go away. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Well I really enjoyed this. It was kinda teenage dramaish but I was all for especially when Eli and Caleb were introduced. It took me a while to remember who Doc but I’m glad she has somebody who knows about a lot of helpful stuff and actually believes her. So I’m thinking yes the painter guy is her dad?!?! Smh I had a bad feeling about this. Both her and dan got hit with some family whammies and I feel bad for both of them. I’ll definitely read more, I’m curious where it will go. (hide spoiler)]

I agree on the storyline advancing nicely, I enjoyed the new twists and turns but really I’m still so mad at dan I’m glad there’s a new dreamboat lol. Definitely want to read the next one as well ☺️ Would you want to try for sometime the first week in December?!
