I have read Katie fforde books such as:

• wedding season
• a perfect proposal
• practically perfect
• love letters
• highland fling
• wild designs.

So as you can see I have read her books. But when I read them I was 16/17 years old. Now I just find the same cycle which is the reason I stop reading her books. I know the genre is chic lit so it would be a light read that is fine. But why are there always problems and then the heroine very easily forgets everything and everyone happy?. The problems that are shown in all the book have never been developed. There always is a problem and then bam its solved . There isn't a process element or the fixing the problem element.

Also why is Katie so obsessed with country life ?. In any of these book on the list or her other books. It starts off with city life and ends in contentment in country life always. Or it would start from country life and end there.

Chic lit aren't meant to be pg but Katie's stories are it's funny actually. Some granny read fifty shades of grey and here we are with Katie's book which age group are they aimed at?

Am I the only one who thinks this?. I just wondered because if we look at chic lit genre authors such as:

Jojo moyes

Sophie kinsella

Katie Ashley

Jane Costello

Phillip Ashley.

These author come up with fresh stories with no repetitive atmosphere, story , theme etc. Its always new so why can't Katie do the same?.

I am sorry if I sounded mean its just view.

Hi Sonia
I'm guessing from how you spell your name that you are not from the UK. Katie Fforde lives in the Cotswolds, a particularly pretty part of England. If you ever get the chance to go there, you might understand why her characters always end up in this rural idyll. I don't live there myself. I can't afford to!
