Just read this to my class this year and I enjoyed it. They’re coming out with another One and Only soon. Can’t wait!
I also read this one not too long ago. It was a deeply emotional read for me. It’s definitely one of my favorites. I’m also looking forward to the One and Only Bob.
I love this book and have had my students read it for the last two years. It is always one of their favorites.

Oh, I was given it as a thank you gift from someone who loves it. I hope I don't find it too creepy.
Because The One and Only Ivan is based on a real gorilla, I found this was a fascinating way of telling this story through words of Ivan, for you identify with, and feel yourself growing with, the humanity of Ivan as the story progresses.
I read this for the first time and while I think that it's very good, I was surprised by just how sad it was!
read this to my classes. We all loved it. We did a follow up with the real story in class. Great way to incorporate nonfiction with fiction.The new book, The one and only Bob isn't as good.
