message 109: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (last edited Nov 07, 2019 03:44PM) (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 9905 comments I have found some MC's with MP or PM as the initals. Editing as I find them.

The Big Sleep (Philip Marlowe, #1) by Raymond Chandler Philip Marlowe

message 110: by OjoAusana (new)

message 111: by Jammin Jenny (new)

Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 3851 comments I think that would work.

message 112: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 9905 comments I have finished Girls of Paper and Fire (Girls of Paper and Fire #1) by Natasha Ngan I can use it for orange or sweet in text. I need to review it still so I'll check again to see if the spots are still free when I post. (Haven't checked the SS yet.)

I'm also currently reading The Cruel Prince (The Folk of the Air, #1) by Holly Black

message 113: by Lee (new)

Lee | 174 comments Anna, I just finished a book that has orange in the text so if you want to do sweet I think we can move to the next card!!

Also, is there a BR for The Cruel Prince because I need to read that one as well.

message 114: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

I'll review it ASAP then. I hope Morgan is okay with me taking her slot. I see she has started her book...

message 115: by Lee (new)

Lee | 174 comments We can always move it to another board. The book certainly won't go to waste! And since we have a few other books that are finished maybe we can use some of those once we get a different board.

message 116: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 9905 comments Okay. I'll review it now then.

Also, there is no current BR for the Cruel Prince. Want to read it together?

message 117: by Jammin Jenny (new)

Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 3851 comments Now we just need a book with a cookie on cover.

OjoAusana - Are you still reading the book with the gingerbread cookies on the trees?

I thought we only had two left? I saw on the review thread 23/25?

message 119: by Jammin Jenny (new)

Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 3851 comments I think someone else posted for the other one we were missing after it was updated.

message 120: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 5341 comments I’m reading From Lukov with Love & it has SWEET in text But I’m not sure if it is already on the spreadsheet so if someone could check please.

message 121: by Jammin Jenny (last edited Nov 08, 2019 03:11PM) (new)

Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 3851 comments Yes Book has that one covered.

Right now the open spots appear to be:

Author's initials are in PIE
MC's initials are MP or PM

But I've seen chat in this thread where people were saying they might have those covered.

If you do have them covered can you please update the SS to show you have it?

message 122: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 9905 comments Jammin Jenny wrote: "I think someone else posted for the other one we were missing after it was updated."

I think we are at 25 of 25. I posted for sweet and Erin posted for orange.

message 123: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 5341 comments So I assume that means my Zuleikha book is open to use for the next one?

message 124: by Vicki (new)

If we are still talking first round we don't need pie as Erin posted for orange and we don't need PM as she posted for Canada. Assuming I understand how the rules work???

message 126: by Lee (new)

Lee | 174 comments Vicki wrote: "Wait, I thought I use that for a translated book. That meeting Zuleikha"

The other tasks for that spot was completed first which is why it's on hold.

You can still use it for translated. You just have to wait till we are done round 1. I think we are but I'm not 100% sure of the rules yet.

Yes that's right. We'll just need those two filled for the next round so we can get a new board. I found a book that fits author's initials in PIE, so we just need a book with the MC's initials being MP or PM

I'm confused. I thought the Coffee board was round 1 and that's where I put my book. I'm home for about 10 minutes. LOL Hurrying up on GR...then out to a late lunch.

message 131: by Jammin Jenny (new)

Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 3851 comments The coffee board is round 1 and 2 - now we are finishing up round 2 then we get our next board.

Oh okay so we are talking about round 2 then. I have no clue what we are doing in round 2. :P

I have it and started it but wont finish it tonight so if someone else has a book that fits for cookies on cover that gets done before me they can post it there, theres plenty of other spots on other boards that book will fit for :)

and yes I can read mary poppins tomorrow if we still need a MP Mc

CONGRATS GUYS!

You have finished your first round of the board! With the spinner, You all got 90 bonus points added to your total score! You can now start posting for the second round - I counted 3 of the books that were on hold already as well.

Happy reading!

message 135: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (last edited Nov 09, 2019 06:20AM) (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 9905 comments Guys I'm looking at our banked books to see what we can use to finish faster. So far I have found:

A Touch of Gold (A Touch of Gold, #1) by Annie Sullivan - Title has 4 words ONLY
Come and Get Us by James Patterson - MC's first or last name starts with C

message 136: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 9905 comments If we are allowed to move things we could move That Month in Tuscany by Inglath Cooper to M,I,N,T and put another book in break up. I think it's easier????

message 137: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (last edited Nov 09, 2019 06:18AM) (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 9905 comments Oh and Jenny you should change Chestnut man to 'Nut' in the title as 2019 is easier.

In fact we could use the banked book The Bone Houses then.

message 138: by Keri (new)

Keri | 1873 comments I just finished my review for Bone Houses and working on my buddy read comments now

message 139: by Vicki (new)

Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 5341 comments I finished a four letter title last night, so I can take that spot, Jenny. Just let me know if you want me to.

message 140: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 9905 comments Just a personal suggestion I think we should only add books to the SS if they are finished. It's working really well in my Quarterly team right now. :)

message 141: by Lee (new)

Lee | 174 comments I feel like we should def work on cleaning up the spreadsheet. It's a little hard to figure everything out not just on the board but the banked/CR one. So maybe we only put finished books on the board and then the banked/CR for well ones that are finished and don't fit or ones we are CR.

Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 3851 comments I also like that plan. I'll move the one book I have to the planned.

ETA: The Freebie spot is open for anyone that has a finished book that doesn't fit anywhere else.

Awesome!

I think that will make things go a lot faster. We can just add any banked books we find that work as the categories arrive. ^_^

Trisha is also reading that book - The Chestnut Man (we are doing a group read in another group) so she should be finishing up shortly.

❀ Crystal ✿ - PEACE ☮ LOVE ♥ BOOKS (crystaldc18) | 4664 comments I like the idea of only putting finished books on the ss especially since there are quite a few finished with nowhere to go.

message 150: by Lee (new)

Lee | 174 comments Right now, if there is a book that is finished and can fit in a spot I vote we try to finish this board and get a new one. I'm sure those books we move will be able to fit somewhere else.
