Carla (carla1957) Hmmm, I vote for I'll Find You.

message 5: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) I vote for A CORPSE IN THE KORYO

This is a terrific book. I love the whole Inspector O series. It's set in North Korea and gives a great insight into the country. It is written by a former intelligence officer with experience in Asia.

I would like to see more votes for the December group read. I'm happy to keep the voting open another week if people want more time.

Ron, maybe a group email would help.

Thanks for voting. Remember that you can vote for two books. Seems to be a battle between Taunting the Dead and A Corpse in the Koryo.

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

Nice to see voting picking up. Thanks.

message 18: by ML (new)

ML (goodreadscomm_lyons) My vote is for I'll Find You.

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

Only two more days to vote.
If you only voted once, you can vote again.

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

It should be noted that if there is a tie, then I can break the tie with my vote.

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

We do have a tie folks. Hope more people want to vote or it will be me breaking the tie.

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

Like I said before, you are allowed to vote for two books.

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

Okay, I'm going to close the voting for December. Since I have the tie breaking vote between I'll Find You by Nancy Bush and A Corpse in the Koryo by James Church, I'm going to do something unconventional. To tell you the truth, I really want to read Taunting the Dead by Mel Sherratt. So, since I'm voting for Taunting The Dead, I'm creating a three way tie with these books so these books will be our group reads over the next three months. Here is the schedule.

Group Read for December - I'll Find You by Nancy Bush
Group Read for January - A Corpse in the Koryo by James Church,
Group Read for February - Taunting The Dead by Mel Sherratt

I really wanted to do this since there was interest in reading all three books. In the end, the point is to make everyone happy here.
So, for the next three months, we don't have to worry about voting and have more new members come in and increase the voting for March.

Looks good, Ron.

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

Thanks. Just an effort to make everyone happy. We can be different from other groups.

message 27: by Christine (new)

Christine (clt04) I am wondering if the upcoming holiday season has caused some of the members to not vote this time. Can be a very busy and stressful time for many. I note several groups opted to skip December BOTM. I like having it as I plan to continue to read through the holidays.

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

I didn't think of that so you may be right. In any case, we won't be voting for any books for the next three months so it will be a nice break.

message 43: by Christine (new)

Christine (clt04) John Puller.

If not for Goodreads, I would still be reading all Baldacci. My first 3 postretirement reads were his. I then decided I could easily stay in the rut or branch out. I joined Goodreads and have never looked back. I do want to get to Split Second, first in King and Maxwell series in 2015.

message 44: by Marian (new)

Marian Have you ever read Baldacci's book The Lottery Winner?(I think ithats what its called)its been awhile since I read that one.Heck, all of his books are great!!

The Lottery Winner? Mary Higgins Clark wrote a book with that title, but not Baldacci. Maybe "The Winner"? That one is on my list.
