I just started re-reading the first one for, like, the third time. IF the annotations are Shannon's real handwriting, she has better handwriting than I could ever have.
Oh the annotated version is awesome! I don't own it yet but I've looked through it. I love the illustrations ;)

The illustrations confused me. They're really childish (as you said) and reminded me of the Anime/Manga style, which made nearly no sense for the series.

This is kinda random, but has anyone read the Lunar Chronicles? And if so, who else sees Carswell Thorne as the SciFi Keefe of the Future?

Personally, I like Laura's art (don't attack me, please), but none of the many, many artists Shannon works with have perfectly captured how I imagine the characters as looking like.
oh I've read the lunar cheonicles! But it was a while ago, Thorne and keefe definitely share some attributes tho
