SEEKING

Zephyr Tenebris

(view spoiler)[Born to Ursula and Faustino Athanasios, Zephyr is their eldest child. He was chosen as soon as he came of age to be the Crown Prince. One year ago, it was decided that he would marry Princess Eilidh, so that the war between the seelie and unseelie courts could finally end. Together, he and Eilidh would join the courts together to form The High Court, over which they would reign as High King and Queen. However, recently a goblin approached his father asking if he might reconsider and betroth the prince to his daughter instead. King Faustino said no, as Zephyr's betrothal with Eilidh was already set and the other girl had nothing to offer. Furious, the goblin -- who had been greedy for the king's wealth -- cursed the prince to die upon marriage to Princess Eilidh. So he was stripped of the title of Crown Prince, as he could no longer arry EIlidh and unite the kingdoms.
He had originally been chosen as Crown Prince because he had an even temper and a good judgement, so his parents believed he was the best hope for ending the war. When he became betrothed to Eilidh, they got along well instantly. At first their relationship was like that of a big brother and little sister, but it quickly morphed into something more. Over the time during which he had been betrothed to her, he had come to deeply love Eilidh. Although the marriage had been arranged, the two fell in love.
Zephyr is heartbroken that he cannot be with Eilidh, however he is determined not to compromise her virtue. If he cannot be her love, he is determined to be her friend. He will not tarnish her in any way, even though he longs to pull her close and never let her go. He wants to do unspeakable things with Eilidh, but he will not let himself dwell upon them. He cannot live without her in his life, so he must content himself with friendship. He knows that the Seelie/Unseelie war must go ahead so he knows that she must marry his brother and fully supports it, even though he believes Mihail is unworthy of her. He believes Mihail is selfish, cares more about his own needs and wants than those of the kingdom and he loathes the way his brother treats others. He never misses an opportunity to put his brother in his place or to make his brother feel foolish, believing that this will make Mihail grow up and start caring more about important things.

Aodh Graceling

(view spoiler)[Aodh is the king of the seelie fae. You can choose his age and powers. He has long ginger hair with a long beard and pale skin. His eye colour changes depending on his mood. He is rather tall and broad-shouldered. He is an elf. He is a loving father and husband. He expects his wife and children to be respectful to him and everyone else who is of a high social class. He prefers that those of a lower social class be treated with kindness but he agrees that mortals and slaves should know their place. It was his idea to choose Eilidh as his heir because, although he would never admit it, she is his favourite.
He respects Arwen and consults her on all matters, treating her as an equal. He is respectful to all those who show him respect, but he will get angry if proper respect is not shown. He is very kind and generous to his mortal ward, Ninnia. Although he loves his wife deeply, he has many mistreses who he also loves, as he is capable of romantically loving more than one person at once. His adviser, Lady Ellowyn Dusk, is a woman, but their relationship is platonic. He has great respect for her. (hide spoiler)]

Arwen Graceling

(view spoiler)[Arwen is the Queen of the Seelie Court, wife of Aodh. You may choose her age, middle names and powers. She has medium length dark brown hair with pristine curls, pale skin, pointed ears and golden eyes. She is a very wise and ladylike individual. She has a habit of acting as though she is better than most people, but she is never unkind unless someone is unkind to her or someone she cares about. She saved the child Olivia when she was younger, bringing her to the realm of Elfanee and giving her the name Ninnia and the title of Lady after adopting her. She is very close with her mortal ward, as Ninnia idolizes her and she likes this very much. She is also quite close with her daughter Eilidh, as she has given EIlidh many lessons in etiquette over the years. (hide spoiler)]

Develop their personalities as much as you want. I'm also looking for handmaidens for Eilidh, Allura and Ninnia. I'm thinking Allura's could maybe be a mortal that got stolen away as a child and taken to Elfane and has been working as a slave for Allura since they were a child, or something along those lines? Ninnia's servant would probably be a faery that the Gracelings' employ. Anything goes for Eilidh's.

I'm also now seeking handmaidens for Ellowyn, as well as spies for her and slaves. She has many mortal slaves that are endebted to her and/or serving her because of a deal they or a family member of theirs made with her. She is for the most part a benevolent mistress.

I'm also seeking a love interest for Ellowyn. They can be male or female. I was thinking it might be interesting for her to fall in love with a mortal, as although she is kind to them, she thinks they are inferior beings. It might also be interesting for her to fall in love with a powerful unseelie fae. I've had it in my head that they have had romantic feelings for her for a while but for some reason not told her. I would prefer them to be romantic and kind to her (even if it's in a twisted, incredibly possessive way, if they are an unseelie fae). I think either one of her mortal servants/slaves who sees her for who she truly is, or a powerful unseelie fae who loves her with all of their twisted heart, would be awesome.

Are you saying that you'd like to claim a member of either the Graceling or Tenebris family? Are you interested in playing Aodh Saibhir, or perhaps one of Eilidh's siblings?

Side note: I definitely think it would be interesting if Eilidh and Lilium were to meet sometime. Or perhaps Lilium and Ninnia, the Gracelings' mortal ward.

So did you want Aodh or should we leave him for someone else? Well, my characters need both mortal and faerie slaves. Allura's favourite slaves are faeries and she tends to mistreat her human slaves terribly but be kinder to her faerie slaves. Eilidh is kind to all her slaves but expects them to know their place. Some of Ellowyn's slaves double as spies. Ninnia is very kind and friendly to her slaves, unless they offend her. You can make any of those if you want, but again you definitely don't have to! I'm sure Eilidh could also use a best friend if you wanted to make a noblewoman to be friends with her.

They can meet on neutral territory! :)

You didn't speak when you shouldn't have. The Seelie and Unseelie Courts are welcome in each others' territories now, as they are soon to be one territory united under High Rulers Mihail and Eilidh. So it's not so dangerous, unless they were to run into someone who opposes the match and doesn't want peace.

Yes, you may. :) Just so you know, the Queen of the Undersea is called Morwenna. Her husband, the princess' father, is dead. As you are the first person to request a royal of the undersea, you may choose how he died as well as other family details.

Someone to play Arwen. Deuce has now claimed Aodh so it would be very helpful if the two of you could collaborate on the story of Aodh and Arwen's married life to keep it consistent. :)

NOTE: Allura has 'favourite' slaves who she treats well (for her) but her favourite slaves are always faeries, always hard working, always completely obedient, always adoring. With her mortal slaves, anything goes. She is not above physically torturing them for fun. Ninnia is mortal, so she finds having mortal slaves weird. Ninnia treats all of her slaves kindly unless they are unkind to her. Eilidh is kind to her slaves unless they disrespect her.

Friends for Eilidh and Ninnia. Maybe some friends for Allura too.
Allura's friends would probably be mean and beautiful. I can imagine her being the Massie Block or the Regina George of the faerie world, except Allura is way worse because she is actually willing to torture mortals for fun. Ninnia would probably make friends with mortal and fae alike. Ninnia would probably like to teach mortals how to 'survive' in Elfame. She'd probably have a few courtier friends because she's the king's ward, but nobody too mean or trickster-y. So Ninnia's friends would be in the Seelie Court. Eilidh would have friends in the Seelie Court and would now be befriending people from the Unseelie Court to cement herself as her future ruler. She would probably have collected a flock of beautiful, adoring girls who love to sing, dance and play instruments, and maybe play the occasional good natured trick on a mortal, things like that.

For now, I'll tell you about it.

The Court of Secrets is a group started by the Seelie King's advisor, Lady Ellowyn Dusk, when she entered into King Aodh's service at age one hundred. The aim of the court of secrets was, and still is, to identify and eliminate threats to the safety of anyone in the seelie court, primarily the royal family. Now, the COS has another objective -- to make sure this alliance goes ahead and that nothing and nobody prevents it. They want the alliance to go ahead because they know that there will be less threats to the Seelie Court if they are joined with the Unseelie Court, since most of their threats come from the Unseelie court. Ellowyn and the COS believe that the two courts will be stronger as one. This is what the king and queen of both courts have come to believe as well.
The king knows about, and has given funding for, the COS. The queen knows about it also. Members of the COS have code names, and when a member of the COS is on a mission, or someone is talking about a member of the COS in reference to their involvement with the COS they will use their code name. Some members of the COS are spies, some are assassins, some are especially trained bodyguards to royal family members that have extra training so that they can identify more threats, some are trained to rescue members of the public that are in danger...

Would you be interested in a younger sister for Aodh, who was cursed at her Naming Rite by the very same goblin who cursed Zephyr, because Aodh's father refused to pledge her in marriage to him? The curse would be that she has to sustain herself on 'the fruit of others' (their blood, their flesh, their life force etc).

She could live in the Royal Castle in a tower? She can't go outside because she's very physically weak and, as per the curse's conditions, she is frequently dizzy and in pain. The more she feeds, the healthier she is. Ellowyn can be chiefly responsible for seeing that she is fed.

I might ironically name her Elysande, because it's said to mean 'healthy and strong.' Imagine being named Elysande in front of the entire ocurt and then moments later being cursed with the opposite of your name's meaning!

Do you like her?

How young would you want her? Just to let you know, she would have long flowing silver-gold hair, violet eyes flecked with gold, pointed ears and dragonfly wings in a mixture of green and gold. She has come to terms with her curse and feeds without complaint but won't attack any of her servants to feed from them because she is fed frequently enough. The only thing that sometimes upsets her is the fact that she can't leave the tower even to see the rest of the castle for many reasons, the most obvious being that she is so ill and fragile.

Ah. I was under the impression you wanted more than one younger sister for him. Those aren't really my kind of characters, but if you do ever want Elysande, let me know. Otherwise, I may just make her a cousin or a high-ranking noblewoman.

I had an idea for a spy for Ellowyn as well. I have a faerie I'm making who is an escort and so has plausible reasons to travel back and forth between the various courts. She also has many connections with less-than-reputable characters who could possibly serve short-term purposes and do some of the minor dirty work for the CoS if there is a need. She also has a brother who is a curator/smuggler of valuable and rare items, but their relationship is strained and might make for fun drama if the CoS ever needs his services lol. I don't know if that's something that would work or not, but I thought I'd throw the idea out there. If she isn't a good fit for a spy, I'll probably still make her just as a regular escort.

Ellowyn notices they have some sort of talent, or thinks that they might be useful in some way. With this escort, I'm guessing Elly might have followed her for a while to see what sort of person she was so that she could have seen whether it would have been worth taking a calculated risk about telling her about COS. Elly wouldn't have wanted to try and recruit someone who would have said no and told everyone else about COS.

Elysande is now Arwen's distant cousin, is that OK? You can go and look at her if you want. :)

It's basically a ceremony where everyone gathers in a location of the parents' choice. All invited guests bear witness as the childs' full name is spoken aloud in front of anyone but the parents and one or two servants for the first time. Then everyone is allowed to hold and bless the child. It's during this part of the ceremony that Goron got in, when Arwen was about to hand her over to her Earth Mother, Ellowyn.
Anyway, in a normal naming Rite, the baby would then be placed in a crib in the centre of the room and spells of protection would be cast over them by the gathered assembly. Then they would be presented with gifts, and then there would be a feast.

I forgot to mention that they always leave out one of the middle names! AAK! Sorry. So they presented her as Elysande Oriana Eulalie Lycoris. NOT Elysande Oriana Alastriona Eulalie Lycoris. Not even Goron knows her full name. When she corrisponds there's an A between those names but the A could stand for anything.

An Earth Mother is a Godmother. I use it in groups where Godmother isn't appropriate.

If you'd like a more friendly slave/master relationship, I suggest Allura. If you'd like someone friendly but firm, EIlidh. If you'd like her to be recruited for the Court of Secrets eventually, Ellowyn. If you want her to get tortured, Allura. If you think she would make a good companion to a poor, lonely, cursed girl that's locked away in a tower, Elysande.

Seelie and Unseelie matches seem to be the fashion at the moment, and the royal women are like precious jewels, sold off to the highest bidder.

Lady Aurinda Larkspur, cousin to the queen, was only a little girl when they interrupted her older sister's betrothal feast and cut down her parents and siblings, the guards that served Aemon Veora. A slave managed to smuggle her to safety, and sneak her into Graceling Palace, where she was given sanctuary as cousin of the Seelie Queen. There she has remained for many years.

But now Aemon is dead, and his son, Aezor, seeks a bride. Everybody knows that the Larkspur-Veora war is a thing of legend, so famous that even the bards sing of it, so Aodhan agrees, hoping that if these warring houses can settle their differences, so too can the two courts.

Does any royal or noble lady need a lady-in-waiting? I have an idea for another character if anyone is interested in a collaboration? Her name is Lillium, and she has been living in the house of her mistress ever since she was a child. When she was a child, her father was a trusted friend of Aodh, as he was brother to his advisor. He used this trust to learn state secrets and try to steal the throne. Naturally this meant that he had to be executed. They were going to exile Lili to the mortal world, but Ellowyn interceded for her and she was placed in another house to serve as a lady in waiting.

So basically,she'll help the lady to bathe, dress, style the lady's hair etc. But she won't do lots of manual labour like a slave, and she'll also be tasked with helping her lady entertain visitors and she'll get to attend entertainments at her lady's side. As she is not a slave, she may come and go from the house she stays in with her lady's permission for things other than errands (errands such as food shopping are left to slaves, she would be more likely to do things like go visiting with ler lady etc). Think of her as a companion who can also do your character's hair while giving them fashion advice. :D

Hello! I am looking for someone to play the love of Mimi's life, Sholto (you can change that last name, I don't mind). He is a Gancanagh (Unseelie) and is played by Cody Fern.



Mimi loves him but isn't publicly allowed to be with him so it's big drama. Everything else about him can pretty much be made up as is. I imagine he's some noble title, though, and I kinda would like to say something like a Marquis with like a vague artistic job that he doesn't need but just does for fun (like an actor).

I wouldn’t mind collaborating with you. Right now, I’m making two mortal slaves, the daughters of Snail’s character Asphodel (and one of their cousins), and a boy involved in a thieving family. Of course, if those people don’t fit with any of your ideas, I’m happy to make another character. The only characters I have with any information up yet are Eilonwy and Hailey, and they’re posted in the workshop.

As far as Lilium, I think it should work. Eirlys Moonshiver is the daughter of Asphodel, so she would have a lady-in-waiting and Lilium’s background should work just fine.

I thought it might be an interesting plotline to open the possibility of an arranged marriage for the Undersea Crown Princess Sereia and a noble or member of one of the royal families from either the Seelie and Unseelie Court. An arranged marriage with the Undersea Court would further solidify the unity of the courts, and I was thinking it could have been the idea of one of the royal families or royal advisors of the Seelie or Unseelie Courts since Sereia is a little bit of a wild card and the future of the Undersea Court would be a little too uncertain for the comfort of most people if she became queen. If she married someone of royal or noble blood from one of the other two courts, then the continued loyalty and cooperation of the Undersea Court would be pretty much sealed. Of course, she would not like the idea at all and would do everything in her power to avoid it, so that would be fun to rp out.
If anyone is interested let me know. For her I'd prefer someone from the Unseelie Court, but either court would work.
