Library Queen | 320 comments I just read A Spoonful of Poison (Agatha Raisin, #19) by M.C. Beaton
for 8) A book with 200-299 pages. Next I'm reading The Gryphon Heist (Talia Inger #1) by James R. Hannibal for 45) The first book in a series if that's ok.

Lanelle Library wrote: "Thanks. I think we're doing really well here and in the Sweet Potato team."

We are doing very well :)

I just finished reading Shakespeare's Champion. The main character has a best friend who is a doctor, so I'm taking 54) A book with a doctor or nurse in its text.

message 58: by Library (new)

Library Queen | 320 comments I just finished Storm Rising (Book of the Wars, #1) by Ronie Kendig and used it for 13) A book with a single man on the cover. Next I'm going to do 16) A book with water on the cover with The Killing Tide (Coastal Guardians, #1) by Dani Pettrey

message 59: by Library (new)

Library Queen | 320 comments I just used Sleeping Giants (Themis Files, #1) by Sylvain Neuvel for 48) A book that is part of a trilogy.

Next I'm doing There's Something About Sweetie (Dimple and Rishi, #2) by Sandhya Menon for 12) A book with a single woman on the cover.

message 61: by Lanelle (last edited Nov 17, 2019 03:32PM) (new)

Lanelle I just finished reading Magic Rises. I'm not sure which category I should put it in.

Which one do you think?
5) A fantasy/sci-fi novel
9) A book with 300-399 pages
42) A book published in the summer (June-September)
52) A book set outside the USA

message 62: by Library (new)

Library Queen | 320 comments I think 42) A book published in the summer (June-September). I know I have books that will fit the other categories.

message 63: by Library (last edited Nov 17, 2019 06:03PM) (new)

Library Queen | 320 comments If you're ok with it, I'm going to use Fire Storm (Kaely Quinn Profiler #2) by Nancy Mehl for 2) A suspense novel.

Thanks for helping me 'decide' :)

Lanelle Library wrote: "No problem. :) Are you ready for Thanksgiving?"

There's really not much for me to do. It's just my son, my husband and me. I'd have to find a very small turkey unless I want lots of leftovers.

Child #1 - My oldest daughter and her family are in Texas but getting ready to move to Oklahoma.
Child #2 - My oldest son lives in Las Vegas and just got back from a deployment in Afghanistan. We'll drive over and visit him and his family this weekend. But they are going up to Utah to have Thanksgiving with her family.
Child #3 - My second son has autism and lives at home with us.
Child #4 - My second daughter lives in Virginia with...
Child #5 - ...my third daughter and her family. Too far away!!!
Child #6 - My fourth daughter lives in Utah and works Thanksgiving Day. Maybe we can convince her to come down the week after.

My older brother lives here in Phoenix but his family is even bigger than mine. No room at that inn :)

I guess I should look for people at Church that won't have someone to eat dinner with.

message 68: by Library (last edited Nov 17, 2019 06:36PM) (new)

Library Queen | 320 comments I think they make small turkeys, unless you just wanna skip it. We'll probably be doing ours later because we're just a few people ourselves and want to go shopping. But that's really spread out, so I don't blame you if you just do something small.

message 69: by Lanelle (last edited Nov 18, 2019 04:29PM) (new)

Lanelle Since you suggested that I use 42) A book published in the summer for the last book I read, I used 43) A book published in the fall for my next one, Death Is A Cabaret.

I can move it to a couple of other places if you'd like me to.

message 70: by Library (new)

Library Queen | 320 comments That's fine with me. I'm going to use Saving Mona Lisa: The Battle to Protect the Louvre and Its Treasures During World War II for 51) A book set during a war. My next book Romanov I'm going to use for 52) A book set outside the USA, if that's ok.

Lanelle Library wrote: "Oh, and thanks for the books recs in the other thread, they sound really good. :)"

I actually have one more for you. If you ever need a horror book for a reading challenge, try The Thing From the Lake by Eleanor M. Ingram. As a Christian, you'll love the ending.

message 74: by Library (new)

Library Queen | 320 comments Oops! I accidentally posted my question in with the reviews. Sorry! I hope your trip was nice. :)

message 75: by Lanelle (last edited Dec 06, 2019 05:54PM) (new)

Lanelle Jada, do you think there's enough of the man on this cover The Masqueraders by Georgette Heyer to qualify for
11) A book with a man and woman on the cover?

If not, it works for 1) A historical novel, 9) A book with 300-399 pages (338 pages),
44) A book published in the winter (published in December), and 47) A book that is not part of a series. Decisions, decisions :)

message 76: by Library (new)

Library Queen | 320 comments I think yes, I can clearly see a man. :)

message 77: by Lanelle (new)

Lanelle Awesome. I'll go report it for 11 then.

We're definitely slowing down, aren't we?

message 78: by Library (new)

Library Queen | 320 comments We are, but I think it's because we don't have as many options, and they're getting a little harder to find.

message 79: by Lanelle (last edited Dec 09, 2019 07:28AM) (new)

Lanelle Are there any categories that you might struggle to read for?

message 80: by Library (new)

Library Queen | 320 comments Biblical fiction is not something I normally read. How about you? Anything hard for you?

message 81: by Lanelle (last edited Dec 09, 2019 07:31AM) (new)

Lanelle Library wrote: "Biblical fiction is not something I normally read. How about you? Anything hard for you?"

Nothing hard, just not what I normally read.

I was thinking about re-reading The Bronze Bow for the Biblical fiction category. Have you heard of it?

message 82: by Library (new)

Library Queen | 320 comments I have not. Is it good?

message 83: by Lanelle (new)

Lanelle Library wrote: "I have not. Is it good?"

A couple of years ago, I needed a book with bronze on the cover or in the title for a reading challenge. I found The Bronze Bow. I read it and loved it. I convinced my in-real-life book club to read it, too :)

I highly recommend it.

message 84: by Library (new)

Library Queen | 320 comments Only 7 more!

message 85: by Lanelle (new)

Lanelle Library wrote: "Only 7 more!"

Jada, are still working on this historical novel?

message 88: by Library (new)

Library Queen | 320 comments Oops! No, I'm sorry, this got forgotten because of Christmas. I'll post it today!

message 89: by Lanelle (new)

Lanelle No problem.

Just so you know, I've started reading Maybe Baby, which will work for 24) A book with a baby on the cover or in title.

message 90: by Lanelle (new)

Lanelle I've finished and reported Maybe Baby. We are down to four categories to fill!

message 91: by Library (new)

Library Queen | 320 comments Yay!

message 92: by Library (new)

Library Queen | 320 comments I'm reading 2 books right now, and they will work for 4) A biblical fiction novel and 46) The last book in a series. :)

message 93: by Lanelle (new)

Lanelle Library wrote: "I'm reading 2 books right now, and they will work for 4) A biblical fiction novel and 46) The last book in a series. :)"

That's great! Then I'll take the last task with the bridge on the cover.

message 94: by Library (new)

Library Queen | 320 comments Great! :) This was fun.

message 95: by Lanelle (new)

Lanelle I just reported the last task! Yay!

message 96: by Library (new)

Library Queen | 320 comments Woohoo!!

message 97: by Lanelle (new)

Lanelle It feels good to be done, doesn't it? And just in time for the next challenge :)

message 98: by Library (new)

Library Queen | 320 comments It does. :) That took a bit longer than I thought it would,
