One motif that is presented in the novel is fear. A direct quotation from the book to support that is "What you starin' at, bit**?" Teddy didn't answer. "Yeah, dat's right, fool." This quote supports the motif, because it's showing that Teddy is scared of the guy that's in the HJH cage with him.

A motif that i found in this book is "love" the quote that i used to explain this is "we're supposed to decide on this stuff together"."Santiago smiled and shrugged his shoulders, going for the charm offensive, which usually worked". this is a good quote for love because Santiago is trying to make his wife happy by saying and doing lovely things.

Book: Crush
Author: Carrie Mac
"I look myself in the mirror. Am I a queer? Do I want to be lesbian? Do I care either way? I wish I could call my parents..." -Page 74.
Motif: Homosexuality, Poverty, Love.
Theme: Love does not have limitations.
There is not anything bad being homosexual.
In the poverty, a lot of people doubt about their sexual preferences.

''My personsal mission in life is to grow old and grumpy and watch my kids flunk out of school.''This is showing that he cares about his kids and if they flunk or not meanwhile also caring a little in his life including war.

the motifs that my book have are justice, bravery, beauty
this is shown when she said that he will take revenge against the woman that captured her
" you will pay for everything to did to my family" pg 13 this shows the the motifs because he is going to make justice by taking revenge

The motif in this book is identity, truth. Be careful with who you are. "Im telling you now. We are jews and we always have been, but the only way for us to survive is to pretend to be something else." pg 77. This is showin identity because they have to lie and say there christians when really they are jews but there not telling the truth because they want to survive.

In this book are many motifs but the one I choose to talk about is loyalty because Jem and Will have a really special relationship and he would do anything for him " He would have done anything, he thought, told any lie, taken any risk, to make Tessa love him. He would have done- Almost anything. He would not betray Jem for it. That was the one thing he would not do" (80). This shows that loyalty to your friends is more important than your own feelings towards the one you love.

The motif that is presented throughout the story is cleaver because the Baudelaire kids find a way to uncover Count Olaf's fake identity.
