Sheila (sheilaj) U read a great book but it doesn't matter since team 9 has won the challenge so we are officially done.

Thank you all for being part of team 1. I'm sure I will see you in future challenges.

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 2461 comments Just back from Memphis ... It's been fun playing with y'all. I'm about half-way done with my book, and I'll finish it because it fits SRC. But won't bother to post/update here.

Sheila ... are you getting hit with snow? Overnight train from Memphis left in clear skies last night, arrived this morning in Champagne/Urbana with quite a bit of snow and it just got steadily worse as we traveled north. Still got in to Chicago's Union station on time, and my train to Milwaukee was delayed by only a few minutes. But my stars it was a mess when I got here. Took hubby and me four tries to make it up the driveway.

Stay safe, everyone!

Sheila (sheilaj) yes, we are indeed snowbound here. We can't even get out of our driveway.

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 2461 comments Well, hubby had used the snowblower before he left to get groceries for tonight's dinner, and then to pick me up. We got stuck on our first try up the drive (HUBBY driving), so we backed out - parked on the street and he trudged up to the garage and got the snowblower out again. Cleared a couple of tire tracks and a bit of a flat spot in front of the garage doors ... put some salt down to add some traction. My first attempt was a no go because he hadn't cleared enough at the bottom to let me make the tight turn. After he got that done, I tried again, but got stuck on the hill. I backed down again, he added more salt and was getting ready to fire up the snowblower again when I just decided to give it one more go .... and that time I made it.

15 minutes later our snow plow service showed up to plow the driveway .... S I G H.

I suspect he'll have to plow us out again tomorrow morning so I can get to work.
