What is up with that ending?!

Ok so I get that they are both “captives” of their making but the ending really made it seem like Miranda felt the need to really screw Frank over and I couldn’t understand why I mean yes he was predatory but he did get her out and she could have easily left him.
Also- how could Miranda befriend Lu when she knew that Lu helped April’s demise?
Also- how could Miranda befriend Lu when she knew that Lu helped April’s demise?

I feel like Miranda had some type of vendetta against April because of her drug addiction. I wasn't too pleased with the ending, I don't think Frank should have ended up in prison.
