I was mostly glad that she felt forced to reveal her secret finally to George. It seemed like it was going to weigh heavier and heavier on Alanna, and while I wished it was another that made her reveal herself than a dang period (blah... been there Alanna, I wish I could have checked that box no myself), it was messing with her psyche in my opinion. I didn't like the suggestion that Alanna would "change her mind" about wanting children. Because then if Alanna does change her mind, she'll come off stereotypical somehow. And while there is nothing wrong with wanting children or changing your mind, I do think the author painted herself into the corner of having to "prove" that Alanna is steadfast in her commitment. I really like Raoul, he's definitely my favorite so far from her group of friends. I liked how he gave her a bit of a lecture that it was okay to be different, that they liked "Alan" not in spite of "his" differences, but because of them. I think that's a powerful message for the age group that would be chiefly reading this, since a lot of times there's a desire to fit in, even at the cost of authenticity.
Really liking George, surprised that the author seems to be fleshing him out so much, pleasantly surprised though.

Here we will discuss Chapter 5 of the book.
