Michelle suggested we have a thread on suggestions of books where the dog or any animals in the book doesn't die.

I guess there is a website where you can see films/movies listed that if there are sad parts and you'd rather not watch them, then you can go to this site to see beforehand. Here's the film site link if anyone is interested: http://doesthedogdie.com/

But, if you know of any animal books where there isn't a bunch of sad parts in it, please list it here.

In Sterling North's Rascal, the raccoon doesn't die, but it's still sad because it's a coming of age book, and things just don't stay the same. But it's also funny and it's such a wonderful (semi-autobiographical) story.

In my new book, Dogs Don't Look Both Ways: A Primer on Unintended Consequences, the dog does not die. There's definitely suspense, and lots of emotion, but the emotion also includes happiness. I don't want to give away the ending but if you're like me, and don't want to read another book where the dog or animal dies, read Dogs Don't Look Both Ways.. The book is "reality-based fiction".
