Through the first two chapters. I am not crazy about this reader. So far the book is pretty confusing but I have hopes that all will make sense soon.

Not very far into chapter ten. They just jumped into another dimension, the second one from their own.

I would have liked a bit more of introduction, like she describing a bit more before jumping in, like her relationship with her mom, with her dad, with Theo, with her sister. And then there is Paul, who is a mystery so far. I'll probably have to keep reading to find out more!
I don't know if I like the heroine so far, but I do like the fact that she is focused on her mission. (hide spoiler)]

I'm another one to keep people reading this! I absolutely loved it! I did listen to the audiobook so I had the experience of the different accents people were talking about :) That was quite fun.

Paul: (view spoiler)[ I also believe him. I'm a bit frustrated he doesn't tell us what's going on, I get that he wants to protect Marguerite, but still, he could've use her help. I like him, he seems like the right love choice for Marguerite (hide spoiler)]
Theo: (view spoiler)[ I also think he's not to trust. I think Paul thought Theo was working for the bad guys, and maybe he doesn't believe that now that he is looking for him. But I wouldn't trust Theo so fast. He seems jealous of Paul, so he would try to blame him, and I don't think he is sincere when he calls him little brother. I think he might care for Marguerite, but he's too messed up. What I don't know is if this whole drugs thing is to hint us that he could be the traitor, or if its just to make him the weakest point in the love triangle. Because if he is the traitor, why did he tell Marguerite of his intention of going after Paul? Did he wanted her to go with him? If that's it, then why" Why shouldn't Marguerite be in her own dimension? Did he need her help, or is there something more, something she's supposed to do? (hide spoiler)]
First dimension: (view spoiler)[ It was fun, to see a not-so-different one, and I wish we could explore it a bit more. What I didn't like was how much of a snob Marguerite was about her aunt and her house. I get it, she may be superficial and have a different way of life, but she judges so much it made me sad. And she was constantly putting that dimension Marguerite down for not having an artistic or more creative side. (hide spoiler)]
Second dimension: (view spoiler)[ I still don't know much about this world, but it seems her mother's family never left Russia/ Also, there's more to the family than it looks, because she has to have the same father right? Could she be an illegitimate child? I'm not linking the broken firebird plot, it seems like an unnecessary thing to make the book more complicated and longer. (hide spoiler)]

I couldn't quite put my finger on why I didn't like Meg too much and I think you hit it on the head - she was so judgmental of everyone - her aunt, every Meg's life she got into. Paul: (view spoiler)[ I couldn't connect with him. Or his Russian self. I just felt them so stiff and cold really. And I really don't get why he says he's shy and not good with words, when he has no problems to express himself later in the book. I also became quite annoyed with him not being sincere with Marguerite; I get trying to protect her, but he should have known better. (hide spoiler)]
Theo: (view spoiler)[I didn't like his "twist". I distrusted him from the beggining, but couldn't figure out why he wanted to follow Paul (He obviously didn't need the firebird so it got to be something else) and why he wanted Marguerite to follow. There was somerhing special about her, because she didn't need reminders, but it seemed really random that they chose her. Why didn't they chose evil Theo? Or does it only work for the body, not the mind that's in it? Anyway, I also didn't like that original dimension's Theo was a good guy; its like they had a traitor, but it wasn't really him, so she still gets to keep his friend. It just feels flat, like there was no consecuences to this whole thing. (hide spoiler)]
Marguerite: (view spoiler)[It's not that I couldn't stand her, but I couldn't connect with her. She was so judgmental about everything and everyone, and everything with her was black and white. Also, I couldn't feel any of her feelings, it was all talking to me. She tried to explain her relationships and feelings, but that it's all it was: words. I wish there was a more developed beggining, so I could see all the characters instead of being told about them. Also, I admire that she's an artist, but art and science aren't the two only remarcable things in the world, and she acts like they are. (hide spoiler)]
Henry: (view spoiler)[I barely know him, but I'm glad he's alive. I was kinda sad for him in the Russian dimension. I hope he gets to have that version of Marguerite as a daughter from now on. (hide spoiler)]
In the end, I like the story. I think it could be a great saga. But the characters felt flat and I the love story... it just wasn't for me. I would read the next one, but I wouldn't be surprised if I still can't connect.
