Why is humility such a prominent virtue in American Born Chinese?

Communication is how people respond to each other and a way acceptance. Everyone wants to blend in, have friends and be accepted and with those things people usually lose who they really are or who they want to be. So they turn into these characteristic, which are not necessarily a good trait to have, to be in a clique. Humility is very important because being humble to your kin and accpeting your culture is great.Realizing you are wrong in looking down on your own people because you are ashamed, and changing you view is a great virtue.
