I don't really count this as one of my 50 because it was an audio book. Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See.
Well, 2011 is here and I, alas, am not sure if I made the 50 books goal. In mid-November I went on a trip to China and Hong Kong. Before that I spent my time researching and reading travel guides. I also found out I was pregnant, and so my mind has not allowed me to read novels, I can only focus on baby books. Somehow, to me, travel guides and baby books do not count toward my 50 books a year. Anyway, I do not feel like I failed in 2010. I read lots of great books and enjoyed almost all of them. 2011 will be a different story with a different joy. Welcome the new year!
Of course, you can make your own rules as to what constitutes having read a book or not, but I certainly think that all those words/pages read (and knowledge garnered) can certainly add up to more than a book. But I digress, congratulations on the baby coming. May your life open up to all the wonderful children literature that is available as you get to enjoy the wonder of when your own child begins to read and the joy of teaching your child(ren) a love for books and reading.
