**Sorry if it's a little "cheesy"! Haha!
JUSTICE
It's almost Thanksgiving Day
And I'm planning my menu
Great Aunt Esther isn't coming
Whatever shall we do?
We all have our specialties
That we like to cook for fun
Daddy fries the turkey
Mom brings hot-cross buns.
Monica prepares broccoli-rice
And Denise does deviled eggs
Grandkids are constantly fighting
Just who will get a leg?
She always made macaroni
with ooey gooey cheese
Brought it each and every year
The aroma like a breeze.
At the age of ninety-one
Aunt Esther's getting older
Doesn't get out much now
As the weather's getting colder.
So I will make her dish now
As she passes down her spoon
Hope I can do her justice
We'll see that day at noon!

“Poets have been mysteriously silent on the subject of cheese."

Haha! Thank you, Garrison! I really appreciate that! I know the poem is "cheesy" but this was quite difficult for me! We will be having Thanksgiving at my house again this year .. bring on the chaos!
I am about to have an extremely busy weekend so I buckled down and got 'er done! I have a story that I will be posting shortly! Hope everyone enjoys!

Haha! Thanks again, Garrison! I just posted the story. My Mom called and interrupted me!

The College Life
Waking up
It's 9am
Still have a headache
from that dorm party last night
Class starts
in 15 minutes
What's for breakfast?
Oh, hey, some leftover mac and cheese!
Stomach grumbling
11:30 am
Time for lunch
Want to go to the cafeteria?
Stand in line
20 minutes
What's that, brussels sprouts?
Think I'll have the mac and cheese, please!
Getting dressed
8 pm
Going to a party
Shelby's turning twenty-one!
Kinda drunk
1 am
Falling over
Let's head back home.
Got the munchies
1:30 am
Want some food?
Here's some mac and cheese!

They couldn't wait 'til tonight
Alone they would finally be
House and kids out of sight
A date night to he and she
Whistling on the way from work
His front tire sure did blow
He gave the lug wrench a mighty jerk
And changed it in the snow
He hurried through the door
Chomping to get himself ready
Stepped upon toys on the floor
Trying to keep his temper steady
She was reading on the bed
And wore a somber look
His heart thumped now with dread
As she looked up from her book
She thought she had the flu
And the snow was falling fast
There was nothing she could do
No more dreams of having them a blast
Their cupboard was nearly bare
Not much here she said through a sneeze
He gave two boxes an agry stare
Ramen Noodles or damned Mac n Cheese

They couldn't wait 'til tonight
Alone they would finally be
House and kids out of sight

Thanks Kristen. Unfortunately I can relate too much to it.

Please post directly into the topic and not a link. Please don’t use a poem previously used in this group.
Your poem can be any length.
This week’s topic is: Macaroni and Cheese.
The rules are pretty loose. You can write a poem about anything that has to do with the topic. I do not care, but the poem you post must relate to the topic somehow.
Have fun!
Thank you to Rachel for suggesting the topic!
